DISCUSSION - If Eminem was BLACK, would he be considered the greatest rapper of all-time?
In other words, do you think many people are hesitant to label Eminem as 'the greatest rapper of all-time' due to his white skin color? |
Not in my book.
|
Of course not. Vanilla Ice is white, and he's regarded with respect to his talent.
|
He's not the greatest rapper of all time, because he's actually a pop star, not a rap star.
|
IMO, if Eminem was Black, he would look funny(ier that he does now)

If Eminem were black, he would barely be average.

No, people are hesistant to say Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time because nobody that actually knows what rap is thinks that he is nowhere near the top of the game. I.E. he is a whiney voiced emo bitch, not exactly great credentials to be a contender for the greatest rapper of all time.

I'll admit that I listen to some of his stuff (Mostly his earlier stuff)
But saying that he is the greatest rapper of all time is a bit of a stretch to say the least. |
People wont consider him the greatest rapper of all time because 1) Jay-Z is better 2) He has yet made that epic album and 3)He doesnt have much of a rap fanbase though. I still think he is one of the best rappers.
|
Correction:
AT LEAST Pac, Nas, Jay and Biggie are better. and his fanbase are middleclass white kids who listen to pop and think Eminem is their "rebellion." |
Eminem is better than Jay-Z, but I agree with Pac and Biggie. Nas is about equal IMO.
|
He might not be AS popular, but he'd still be pretty popular
I don't really like his stuff that much, but he obviously didnt get famous just because he is white. He has a pretty good flow, just really not my style. |
I don't really think so. I don't think he can ever be the greatest. I like his style. I like his kind of rap music. But, you just can't compare him to Pac and Biggie. :y:

If he was a black rapper, he would just be another stereotype. I don't mean that offensively, but he would just be like every other rapper then. And yeah, people are hesitant to label him as "the greatest rapper of all-time" because he isn't anywhere near it.
