Age of Empires III comes out October 18th
How many of you are getting it, and how long until we get some games going again?
I may get it. I love the challenging single player aspect which many RTS games lack.
If my computer can handle it, I'm down.
If there is enough interest from others here, i'd buy it.
Yeah I'll probably buy it and once again become the official TPWW whipping boy
I'll buy it, but it doesn't come out until December over here, so keep that in mind. :(
LOTS OF IFS
Me and my sister's bf are definitely getting it, Ant probably will too. We can probably easily get 6 people or more for some hot 3v3 action or some ish. Hotsauceeee |
Yeah dude, I can't wait.
I will be getting it. Fo shizzle.
And holy fuck @ CNM. I haven't seen him in years.

I swear he had a crack to build like 250 scorpions in like 45 seconds. Cause as soon as I got a barracks up, the army of death slaughtered me. :( |
It looks tight. Hope its better than the second one.

It's nothing to get excited over. The only difference I see is better animations. Graphics are still AOE2. :( |
I read that battles are able to last for hours on end because of how some maps are designed. :o I might check it out just to play with the old AOE guys again.
Full release already out for download....
http://www.torrentspy.com/directory....=431674&cat=PC -edit- apparently after this file downloads, it doesnt have a CD key DXR32-X44M7-CYTCX-P6H6P-97CPG now you do ;) |
Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
I doubt this computer could handle it, but I might try this crack supplied by ]{ ]{ |
get a new computer
www.ncix.com pretty much wholesale pricing (plus a couple of dollars for their profit) and really good shippings rates if you dont use purolater. Plus you could probably use your business' PST number and save 8% of the taxes....you're just reselling it for a customer for enhanced secuirty. but yeah, for what you use the computer for, you could probably spend 600 bucks and get a half decent, much faster machine. Then either give the old one to the girls for homework, or sell it for like 250 bucks, making your final cost cheaper than most upgrades  |
I cannot afford both food and a new computer. Unfortunately food wins this battle... This time
*shakes fist* |
food is overrated
gonna try this DL out :o |
on the 7th day, God created credit cards...and excuses for using them.
An early "family" christmas gift perhaps ;) |
installing it now
Finally some time to install it. I hope its good.
Played a little bit of the campaign.
It's the same system. Almost identical. Just some cosmetic issues to get used to like buttons moved around and they really need to minimize that GUI. I think I saw an option to do it though so its all good. Still havent formed an opinion. I mean... its just like AoE but I will test multiplayer after work. |
I'll be getting Civ 4 instead. Always liked those better.
After a good thorough playing, I would have to say that this game rocks.
I like how you dont have to build resource dropping buildings. You just gain resources as they chop/mine away. You can make a mill which has infinite food as long as villagers run it. In the later ages, you can also get something called a plantation which give you infinite gold. When you hit a building with cannon or other objects, WHERE YOU HIT IT BREAKS OFF. If you hit the top of the building, you make a hole in the roof. Hit a side of a tower and it breaks off. It's really fun seeing that. The cpu AI is kinda weak. I havent played it on th ehardest setting but I remember aoe2 being hard as hell. Oh yeah, the only resource that cannot be farmed is wood. Once you're out of trees, thats it. You also get cards. Whenever you reach a limit, you get to use cards that will either send a shipment of 300 gold/wood/food, or can send some troops from the motherland. You can also use most cards once so you have to make sure you dont waste them prematurely. There is plenty more I could talk about but if you have any questions, let me know. Multiplayer is going to rock. |
havent got round to installing yet but i shall soon :o
I'm getting it for Christmas, then I'll be down for some multiplayer action once I've familiarised myself with the civs.
Whenever any of you guys are down for a game I'm there
Im down...pretty hot game.
Got this game for Christmas, like I said I would, and hot damn, it is awesome. Only played through a couple tutorials and a little bit of the campaign, but yeah, this game will rock in multiplayer. Gimme a couple days to familiarise myself with the differences and I'm good to go for some multi-action
How is it graphics-wise? Is it really graphics intensive, or could it run on just a 'decent' machine?
It takes a bit of power to get the game up adn running smoothly. You can turn down a lot of the settings and all, but I'd say you need an above-average PC to run it fine
