I know nearly nobody cares, but I felt the need to appreciate the NQ Cowboys
 

...after their stunning 29-0 pantsing of the minor premiers, Parramatta. Basically, for all you non-Australians, this is the Cowboys' first grand final ever (they've been a team for a little over 10 years), and they made it to the Semi Finals last year. Up until last year though, they were the joke of the NRL. They were wooden spooners a few times. Everybody always gave them shit because, honestly, they were hopeless :$ But they've pulled their bloody socks up big time and just handed the team that came at the top of the ladder before the finals their own arses on a silver platter, keeping them scoreless throughout.

Interestingly, this has set up a grudge match of sorts for the Grand Final, as the Cowboys will be facing the team they lost BADLY to in the first round of the Finals (the Cowboys lost, but due to other game results and stuff, they actually made it through to the Quarter finals), as well as one of the most unlikely Grand Final matchups possible. I don't think anyone expected this combination. Because Parramatta were on top of the ladder, everybody wrote the Cowboys off pretty early on, but they absolutely thrashed them.

I really hope they win the Grand Final. I mean, it's huge enough they made it there, but if they win it, they will cap off a great season and I dunno, after 8 years of being mocked and finally being taken seriously, it would be nice to see them take it out. :$

Wests Tigers is because they're a combination of Western Suburbs and Balmian Tigers, they merged the same time St.George and Illawarra mergered.

WCE were nothing before WCE. Formed in 86 as the West Coast Eagles, began in 87.

West Coast Eagles have always been the West Coast Eagles.
