Mission of Burma has a record deal...
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/liv...cds_this_year/
One of Boston's most beloved and influential rock bands, Mission of Burma has signed a record deal with Matador and will drop its first new studio recording in more than two decades -- self-produced and recorded at Boston's Q Division -- on May 4. "They made a record that sounds like Mission of Burma, and that sounds dumb, but it's significant when you haven't made a record in 22 years," says band manager Mark Kates. ------------------------ 20 years may seem like a long time, but you consider this is Boston...Where it takes Tom Scholtz that long to come up with a new Boston CD, and where Barry Taschion and the Remains avaerage a CD every 30 years... |
If they are one Boston's most loved and influential rock bands why haven't I ever heard of them?

What their more popular songs are depend on who you talk to. My guess would include both the above and Max Ernst (Was on the Academy Single, got a lot of radio play), Fame and Fortune, and Outlaw. I'd say the best sign of their popularity and influence is the fact that 26 years later, people still want a reunion. |
who?

sounds like I was about -9 when they broke up so that might explain it haha
