IMHO, that was the worst possible time to put that fucking clown over. BUT, it was funny. When that Randy Newman-sounding song came on and the looks on Hacksaw's face drop and then JR was like "Ok, What the hell is this?" I was laughing. Still though, I wanted to hear what Dusty Rhodes said rather than Conway. I used to like his gimmick better when it was Rick Martel's.

No no no no, Sylvan has Martel's gimmick. Conway has Buff Bagwell's. Get it straight. ;)

Also, why was Skinner in there as a legend? Sure, he's a veteran, but a legend? Why not Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake then, huh? :p

Conway is still pretty "meh" to me.

As bad as it was, it could have Randy Orton giving out RKO's en masse.

Sadly, there's many folks here who would have liked that.

Conway is the man. He's a talent performer with great ring psychology and presence. Fair play, his gimmick sucks and doens't get the best out of him but it was satisfying to see the WWE trying to do something with this guy.

I have to agree with one point there, just one. He doesn't have much of a presence. If he did he wouldn't be getting the dead crowds he continues to get. The audience barely recognizes that there is someone in the ring when he is out there. I don't know if I can out the blame squarely on his shoulders but he still get zero reaction from the audience. I don't want it to sound like I don't like the, because I am a huge fan, but his presence is lacking, and I think the crowds reaction is evidence of that.

I think that Conway fills the ring. His charisma and look give the impression that he's so comfortable and in control in there, he even looked good with all those legends surrounding him at Homecoming. His presence in terms of audience reaction is lacking because other than his 'teddy bear ripping' antics with Eugene the past week, he's not been given the opportunity to do anything and set himself apart from the crowd. Once he engages in a meaningful feud or angle when he can clearly be defined as a heel then I can guarantee it'll pick up. At the moment all the audience has to assume he's a heel is that he wears shades, has a goatee and likes to destroy children's toys. I have an uncle who does the same and he doesn't get heel heat either.

Good point, I suppose the WWE hasn't really done much of anything with Conway. The crowd really cant rally against a guy they have no attachment to. Meh, to all the Conway naysayers.

I thought Eugene's reaction of "OMG THIS IS SKINNER" was pretty rofl.

I want to see what conway can do with a better gimmic. his music is streight outta toy story and weve all seen buff the stuff before. he needs a strong gimmic. not a laughing over confident ass like bagwell was. I think he could be more, I just hope they don't keep this gimmic until it never goes away.

Silly question here, but who are the Von Erichs? I have watched wwe forever and the name rings a bell, but I don't know who they are. I"m thinking of the Texas Tornado but I could be wrong.

They are perhaps the most tragic family in wrestling (including the Harts). You probably aren't that much in the know because they are commonly associated with the old NWA.

There is far too much to tell about the Von Erichs, I'll leave that to someone else. There is, however, a great personal account of the Von Erichs in Flair's autobiography

I've only read about the history of the Von Erichs, therefore I can't go into much detail, but I can offer some insight into them.

The Von Erichs, if you had to compare them to a more well-known wrestling family, would be the Texas-equivalent of the Harts. They are regarded as 'the first family of wrestling', and largely responsible for the success of WCCW, one of the major promotions in the 80s. Unless you were around in the NWA 80's days in Texas, you would have never heard of any of them, and not surprisingly so.

Chavo's correct; the Von Erichs' history is quite depressing. Over the years, the Von Erich family was wiped out from tragedies, freak electrocutions, suicides, illness. The only family member that is still alive today is, as you saw, Kevin Von Erich.

As for your thought, The Texas Tornado was Kerry Von Erich, during his WWF run in the 90s.
