Its hard to put your finger on what makes a star a star, but when I look at Orton I see that he has the ability to be on the level of Rock and Austin. Not to say that he will make as much money as those guys, but I see some of the same talents in him.

No, his work isn't main event level yet, but its getting there, his match with RVD was a huge step in the right direction IMO.

His promos have improved, and he has a presence in the ring that makes you care about him. I expect the fued with Foley will continue to speed up his progression.

Am I the only person that doesn't like orton

Not because he is a heel mind you, but I just don't see anything in him. He is not special in the ring. He doesn't have any chrisma, and the only thing he has going for him is that he is in a wrestling family...that sucks. Honestly, were any of the Ortons maineventer, why should Randy be any different? He is a big doofus.

Loose Cannon 01-23-2004 03:36 PM

Orton Rules ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Russell Crowe 01-23-2004 03:36 PM

Personally, I think he is all hype. Show me something solid to beleive he is going to be big, WWE. At the moment, all he is doing is sharing Ric Flair's and HGH's spotlight.

It's like Sean O'Haire was in Rowdy Pipers shadow, then when Hot Rod left, Sean got stuck up in a cage. As soon as he leaves Evil-ution, he will be relegated to below Intercontinental level, feuding with Steven Richards, Rico and Scott Steiner.

In my opinion anyway.

Corkscrewed 01-23-2004 03:38 PM

No. There are a lot of others.

SUPREMO 01-23-2004 03:45 PM

No i hate him legend killer my ass.

Rob 01-23-2004 04:01 PM

He needs to have a excellent match on PPV real fast and he needs to do it without Shawn Michaels or a Chris Jericho on the other side of him.

DMI 01-23-2004 04:05 PM

Orton is awesome

Razor Rybek 01-23-2004 04:10 PM

I am no fan of Orton but you gotta admit, boy got a lot a talent. Being around HHH and Flair can only imrove him and i imagine he will probably carry the company as the top dog at some stage.

Darkone 01-23-2004 04:34 PM

The sad thing is really, that RVD is a good catch phrase away from being the Rock. He's been in movies, runs a nice side operation with his comic book store. He's good in the ring.

Well, I guess you could say that he doesn't have as much talent as the rock.

But Orton won't be the next huge guy. I just don't think he has it. I don't see the star power like from the Rock or from Austin. Cena has it. Orton doesn't.

Now Jericho?...

But Orton has one thinggoing for him that RVD never will.......Vince Rates him.

Kane Knight 01-23-2004 04:38 PM

I like him. I think he's pretty damn good. I also don't think he will be as huge as many people seem to believe.

Heyman 01-23-2004 04:44 PM

Orton is one of my favorite guys in the WWE.

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-23-2004 04:50 PM

lol, he's the man.

MVP 01-23-2004 04:57 PM

Orton's in-ring abilities exceed that of several WWE superstars. It's fresh, he's not stiff, and his moves sell pretty well. Orton has charisma and heel heat with his cocky attitude, his trademark smirk, and his "Legend Killer" gimmick. I agree that he isn't main event material yet. He needs some more ring time, but I think he'll be the next Austin or The Rock. Hopefully he doesn't turn face because I think that'd make him boring as hell.

Nowhere Man 01-23-2004 05:01 PM

I don't hate Orton, but I really don't think he'll do anything other than leech off of Evolution's spotlight. He's not a bad worker by any means, but there's absolutely nothing about him that makes him any different from every other heel ever. I don't see him ever being able to carry the company.

But then again, I thought the same thing about the Rock when he took over as the top face, and look where that went. Just goes to show, I don't know nothin' about nothin.'

I agree. He is entertaining. He's got time to become a real legend.

speaking of which, his "Legend Killer" gimmick is hilarious...Especially his "Friends of Randy Orton" ads.

The clock went back a few minutes, a while back. Possibly vB's attempt to sort out the clock, which Trips e-mailed them about. The vB orders posts by the time they were posted, causing some replies to go above the topic starter's post. Another example here: http://www.tpww.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3683

HeartBreakMan2k 01-23-2004 07:30 PM

I like him, but I believe that there is a lot more hype about him than substance.

KayfabeMan 01-23-2004 11:12 PM

I don't like Orton at all.

Vastardikai 01-23-2004 11:26 PM

Personal opinion, I see Orton being little more than the second coming of Billy Gunn. Overachiever, but I could be wrong. I thought a WCW Jobber named Robbie V had potential. I also thought D-Lo would be a superstar.

AareDub 01-24-2004 12:13 AM

I think Orton is great. I've always seen him as being talented, but I caught myself recently becoming a huge mark for him. This past monday pretty much sealed the deal. I'm sure he'll become a huge star someday. In fact I wouldn't hesitate to call him the next HHH (and I'm a HHH mark so I don't mean that in a bad way).

Orton's head would have to grow and his balls would have to shrink to be Triple H, and I'm not talking ego, I'm talking steroids.

Bad Guy 01-24-2004 03:18 AM

yes.

LMAO!

I coulda sworn I had the second reply too.

Makes sense now.

Rob 01-24-2004 10:57 AM

Ain't no way Orton is going to reach Rock or Austin levels. He will be lucky to make Shawn Michaels levels but he will be a star.

I'm so sick of havin him shoved down my throat every week, and I wanna know who the Friends And Supporters of Randy Orton actually are, its probably himself. Legend Killer, at the mo, more like the Rating Killer. But as pointed out, its still early doors, and also as pointed out, his match with RVD was a step in the right direction. But for now he's still the annoying git who did the RNN updates and the BOY who's attempting to steal the spotlight from Flair, Batista and Trips. By the by, what happened to The OrtonDrive, that was a good move, better than RKO.
