That crooked grin gives it away
|
And who struck out with the bases loaded?
http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/al/kc/Damon.jpg This man! |
I bet that's a picture of Damon.

|
Red Sox will need a new CF. You want the job? Can you choke under pressure?
|
I'm sure I can manage it
|
Ok good. Grow your hair real long and scruffy. Also a beard, yeah.
|
Both #14, that's funny... but you can't blame Graffy. The fans did right with the huge standing O when he was announced.

Think you guys could bring back Joe Carter? |
As a bobble head, yeah.
Poor VEL :'( He was trash talking everyone and I told him that he was setting himself up for a fall if the Red Sox didn't repeat. All your boasting woke up the Karma ghosts. Ghosts such as Ruth, Buckner, and Hero. You're to blame, VEL for the Red Sox's exit. You. Nomar is laughing at you. |
Quote:
I said Miz couldn't talk trash about the Sox because the Sox are better then Seattle. and guess, what, the Red Sox are better then Toronto also, so zip the lip there skippy. Now, Slugs and other White Sox fans can feel free to have fun ripping me a new one. |
Red Sox are better than the Jays?
Neither won a damn thing this year, therefore they are equal. If we take the last, say 15 years as a marker, the Jays have 2 Championships to the Red Sox one, with that logic I say you lose. Regardless, I can say anything I want about any team I want. You, you can put a bag over your head and call yourself a Red Sox fan and justify yourself in any manner you wish. *clap clap clap-clap-clap* Who's your daddy!? *clap clap clap-clap-clap* |

Bases loaded, no outs, down by one run. No runs. That's called a choke, VEL. All you have to do is hit the ball on the ground. Not that hard. Even a DP will get the run in. Anything except a shallow popup or a K will get it done. Jason Varitek, Tony Graffanino, and Johnny Damon. A total of $18 million dollars couldn't buy them a ground ball or a deep fly ball. Choke. Why did the Red Sox make the playoffs this year? David Ortiz

YOU CAN'T TAUNT ME, THE RED SOX WON NOTHING!!!11 |
VEL where's my rep? I had a .982 fielding percentage in little league, I demand rep!
|
Miz you get no rep, you lost all credibility claiming fielding % and Errors shouldn't be factors for Gold Glove.
Hero, the won the wild card, they made the playoffs, they finished higher in the division then the Blue Jays. Of course, everyone has the right to talk trash all they want, but isn't it kinda silly saying stuff like "your team choked, your team sucks" etc... when the person saying it team didn't do better? No Hero, if you stopped to think for a moment, rather then "neither team won" crap, you'd have something inteligent like "The yanks took 11 of 18 from the Red Sox this year, including 2 of 4 at Boston, the last week of the year, and if the Sox had won one of those two, they would have won the division" |
and Miz - Please see other thread on the "salary cap" in baseball, I'd like to hear your idea...
I keep asking Hero and getting no answer. Let's say you were god and MLB and MLBPA did anything you wanted, what type of cap would you set up? |

I will say this, I did think that Boston's season ended after that inning. If you can't score with that much pressure on the pitchers and with that kind of offense, you know your season is ending fast. Here's to Boston and their Nation: You guys had your day in the sun and killed off those "1918" chants. It's our turn now. 1917 is a long time ago. |

Errors are not completely usless. If one guy has 13 and the other has 35 (in around the same # of chances) then you can assume the 1st guy is a better defender. But if one guy had 13 and the other has 16 you can't assume anything. There aren't any very good fielding stats like there are for hitting and pitching. That's why when picking my Gold Glovers I go by what I've seen. Obivously I can't see all of the games or even a majority of them. I've seen probably 3-4 DRays games this year, Alex Gonzalez is Brooks Robinson for all I know. Not all awards can be judged by stats, Gold Glove is one of them. |

yeah... almost a 100 years for the boys in cubbie blue.
and i hope it stays that way. |
"They finished higher in the division than the Jays"
So fucking what? What do they have to show for it? That's right, the same things as the Jays. In fact the same thing as the Royals... Royals, man I love those guys. Guys like George Brett, Bill Buckner, Carlos Beltran, Mike Sweeney, Johnny Damon, Willie Wilson, Bo Jackson, Tony Graffanino. |
|
I'll give you one guess as to which team Bucky Dent retired with.
|
Oh yeah, well I'll give one guess which one of these person's VEL is.

Hero must have stopped drinking, otherwise he wouldn't have all this free time.
Did they win the WS this year, no, but the made the playoffs, the Jays didn't. end of story. |
The Goat isn't what cursed the Cubs
It's the curse of Fred Merkle. He hasn't rested since his '08 fuck up |

Seattle had the 8th highest payroll. 4 of the 8 playoff teams spent less money. 4 Los Angeles Angels $97,725,322 8 Seattle Mariners $87,754,334 21 Texas Rangers $55,849,000 22 Oakland Athletics $55,425,762 What I find funny is you bring up payroll as a reason Seattle can't compete, yet 2 teams that spent 32mil less then Seattle finished better. Los Angeles 95 67 .586 Oakland 88 74 .543 Texas 79 83 .488 Seattle 69 93 .426 So, is that Seattle doesn't have money to spend or doesn't spend it properly? I'll copy/paste this into the MLB thread so we can keep the cap discussion in one spot. |
If you say anything negative about VEL'S team. He will make your argument then argue against the argument he made for you, before you even posts. Its an amazing talent he has.
For instance. " Rectal school of reading" makes no sense at all. What do i have anything to do with this topic? Nothing, but you felt the need to take a cheap shot at me while trying to take a cheap shot at YOUR Hero. Besides, YOUR Hero and I both know if there was a Rectals School of Reading, he would definetly attend. Who wouldnt? |
|
lol 32% off

Curt Schilling knows about the curse. Want to know the real reason he ripped Lou Piniella earlier in the season?

Over 22 seasons, Buckner compiled a .992 fielding percentage.

I'm practicing my Everquest this offseason in hopes to be in the starting rotation in 06. I'm also investing in a bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup and a pair of white sox. |
