What the casual fan knows about TNA!

I'm surprised in that from what I'm seeing, a lot of casual fans know what TNA is now....even those that dont even watch wrestling anymore.

However, there's also a downside to it...

Here's a direct quote from a friend of mine...

"ppl who get fired from WWE go to TNA. it seems like they take anyone. jeff hardy, jeff jarrett. thats all i know, cuz i dont even watch wrestling anymore. it lost its appeal after billy and chuck. havent seen a damn episode since."

Anyone here have a casual fan that knows about TNA and what they say about it?

Loose Cannon 10-09-2005 06:30 PM

what was I telling everyone

PullMyFinger 10-09-2005 06:33 PM

? Idk, what did you tell everyone? I don't remember....a brief 1 line summary would be nice. Thanks.

That's the very reason a lot of casual fans ARE watching TNA though. Name value..they want some faces that they know. LC and i just discussed this earlier today.

yea that and I've said many times that to casual fans, the TNA guys they know look like losers because it looks like they couldn't make it in the WWE. They come off as 2nd rate.

That's why signing the Dudleys was HUGE because the Dudleys were not jobbers and were not fired

Yeah, I know. Both of what you guys said is true. I just wish they'd sign a few big names that are credible and not Velocity or Heat regulars. One or two big names are all they need for the most part, but $$$ is holding them back.

As a person who doesn't follow up on TNA here's my viewpoint on TNA.

Shitty time slot. I am NOT staying up 'till 1:00am to watch it. However, if I ever get off my ass and get a tivo then I'll tivo it. Team 3D has always been favorite team of mine, Raven is cool and I'm sure BJ James can still work a mic. I'm NOT going to get to attached to Kevin Nash because I'm sure he'll tear something.
Isn't Larry Zybosco (or however the hell he spells it) on the announce team? I'd rather hear the phrase "BAH GAWD STUNNER" than listen to him. And what the shit is with the six sided ring? Is Jeff Jarrett really just another HHH? Why did TNA get the retarded Hardy Boy?

PullMyFinger 10-09-2005 09:45 PM

I wish they would do the 6 sided ring for X Division match ups, and a 4 sided one for regular match ups. It'd be a lot better IMO.

I agree I think us internet fans underestimate how well known TNA is.

My mark friend was bitching about Rey Mysterio and how the WWE should fire him (i know he is a spastic). He should go to the minor leagues.

I said "What minor leagues"

He repiled with "TNA".

I was shocked I hope though TNA gets further recognition.

PullMyFinger 10-09-2005 11:20 PM

I don't think that's very positive recognition though lol...but it's some form of it, I agree.

TNA will not be taken seriously until it grabs a few KEY high profile players.

*lol* I got neg repped by Shadow

Casual fan #2: Ummm, did he just knock him out by running into him?
Casual fan: Why does hs scream like his testicles are in a vice?

well, for a big name they could get JR if he gets fired,

JR will most likely move into management or talent. I hope you were only being semi-serious, because a move to TNA would never be allowed

mrslackalack 10-10-2005 03:51 PM

TNA did take A.J. Styles and made him into a star. I wish Impact was 2 hrs because an hour seems to rushed for a big time wrestling show.

PullMyFinger 10-10-2005 04:19 PM

Oh yeah and I'm also surprised that a lot of people know Kevin Nash is in TNA now! A good number of people were saying "Nash is in TNA now"...casual fans that watch and dont watch TNA.

Stickman 10-10-2005 04:48 PM

What do the casual fans know about TNA around my neck of the woods?

"What's TNA?"

Chavo Classic 10-10-2005 04:52 PM

It doesn't matter what British casual fans think about TNA because most of them can't view Impact anyway. Unless they're uber super marks, very little people are aware and have the patience to sift through satellite television and find the Wrestling Channel.

Well done Destor btw, you've gone from a gay rape avatar to an avatar of a guy who looks... well, I don't need to go any further do I?
