CHICAGO -- For a 105-year-old operation, the Chicago White Sox have a remarkably low profile. But this is not their fault.

Here they are in the 2005 American League Championship Series. If you haven't been following the White Sox as closely as possible, if your roots are well outside Chicago, here are 10 things you absolutely have to know about this franchise and its fans. Continue

#11 would be that we have the number one rated radio team in baseball: John Rooney & Ed Farmer.

The Sox have some nice history to them. I knew all that already, but I love baseball history non the less. My favorite "history" to come out of the Sox is what Cleveland's Addie Joss and The Sox's Ed Walsh did in 1908. One threw a perfect game, the other threw a no hitter. Ed Walsh lost 1-0.

Also another interesting tidbit, the Chi Sox's first manager was hall of famer, Clark Griffith. Griffith came from the Chicago Cubs and he was one of the main guys responsible for getting people to jump leagues. Griffith also led the Sox in wins that year. And the Sox won the American League that year.

So the Chicago White Sox are the original champions of the AL.

Cool read.

or that the Cub's beloved Harry Caray started with the Sox and the Wrigley Field ivy was the idea of Sox owner Bill Veeck (and that it actually came from Comiskey Park).

Nice read. Look I didn't think that the Yankees were the only good team. I'm a fan so of course I'd want them to win the series. But now that there out for losing just to fucking Anaheim. I will be cheering on the White Sox the whole way through. There are a lot of good teams out there Joey and I respect alot of them it's not like I only believe my team is the only good team.
