Best Match Ever

Personally, i cant think of the best match of all time. My recent favorite was the 10 man elimination match from Survivor Series 2003 (Stone Cold's Team vs Bischoffs team) even though the match resulted in a loss for Stone Cold, it was one of the greatest matches of all time.
What is your favorite match?

Loose Cannon 01-23-2004 08:35 PM

Wow tough one, but I'm going to say Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna vs Doink and Dink at Wrestlemania 10. Oh man, this match had 5 stars written all over it right from the get go. I really felt something special was on hand right when Doinks inspirational circus music hit. You could tell that this match was going to be one for the ages. Doink and Bigelow started off by putting on a wrestling clinic. These two were on their game that night hitting move after move. Doink sold Bam Bam's shoulder blocks like nothing I had ever seen before. The chemistry was definately their and I felt like they were taking not only each other to a higher level, but the whole wrestling industry to a higher level as well. I would parrelel that 10 minute techincal masterpiece to a Flair-Steamboat match back in the late 80's. Dink and Luna, although not as quite as breathtaking as their partners, really added to the emotion and really defined the word "psychology" when it comes to wrestling. Dink had the ability to make you believe he was going to do one thing and then all of a sudden he would change his mind in mid match and do something else. Like for instance, during the match Dink ran at Luna like he was going to deliever a punch to the groin, but instead he smacked her on her ass. Talk about working the crowd, WOW. In a climatic ending to an already Phenomenal match, Bam Bam pins Doink with the Almighy Head Drop from the top rope after Doink missed with his pattened and underated Woopie Coushin. Then in a moment to remember, and IMO one of the greatest moments in Mania history, Dink steps into the ring and tries to advenge his best pal Doink. Dink steps up to Bam Bam and tries to best to stop Bam Bam's reign of terror, but in heelish fashion Bam Bam slams Dink to the ground. Then he and Luna deliver devestating head drops to Dinl. Luckily Bam Bam missed and spared the fans from losing one of the greats in our sport to injury.

But all in all, just an all around Above Average wrestling clinic put on in that one. It had a great storyline, drama, suspense, technical wrestling to it's finest, oustanding psychology and four of the greatest workers of all-time. I bow my head to the Mixed Tag Team Match at WM 10.

That is a hard question though. I would say that the best match that I have seen is probably either Angle/Benoit from Rumble 03, or Steamboat/Flair 2/3 falls from COTC.

Hard to pick an all-time favorite match.I've seen quite a few really
memorable matches, that were each top matches in their own way.

A hard question but best match i have ever seen is Foley vs Taker HIAC before they starting using this gimmick match like every 2 months. Just the sick bumps that Foley took to show us what he was.

It depends how you define "Best Match Ever"

1- Technical
2- Drawing power
3- Atmosphere

I'd have to say Rock/Austin at X7. It had it all.

MVP 01-27-2004 06:14 PM

Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XII. That was a match that had it all.

thuganomicalcrippler 02-23-2004 11:23 AM

Ricky 02-23-2004 01:20 PM

Triple H VS Shawn Micheals at Summerslam 2002 was my most favourite match ever.

Steamboat vs Savage Wrestlemania 3. The most entertaining match ive ever watched and in a era before a "sick bump" was needed to make a good match

Iceman90 02-23-2004 11:46 PM

I have to say the WCW vs. WWF Elimination Match.

This match could have been THE classic match of all time, but the action was lousy, and the storyline leading upto it was very bad too.
