First impressions of the Boogeyman * Contains smackdown spoliers*
This dude looked like some kind of hybrid of Star wars Darth Maul and Freddy Kreuger. Freddy's personality and Darth Maul's looks. He looked totally different than the pic that was posted on Wrestle crap. No horns or shit like that :y:

I edited your " Legend Killer " list for you... took out the first Taker one... |
You need a better spoiler warning! How was I supposed to know Boogey man was debuting?
|
the answer thinks sig size is equivalent to penis size
|
From what ive seen of him in OVW hes terrible.Although i did enjoy seeing lashley squash him last week.
|
Thought it was an interesting promo. The guy has good charisma but the character is just weird. The whole idea of bringing him in as a failed tv show is just weird, different but weird.

I knew the WWE would update the gimmick myself. OVW is simply just a testing league for the WWE, WWE always add a bit of class and shine to their gimmick wrestlers before they make their TV Debut. Ive always loved out their characters - Original Kane, Mordecai, First Taker.. just something about original, fresh, characters that i love. I was the same with Hassan and lately Ken Kennedy. Im looking forward to finally seeing The BoogeyMan. Sure the names a bit meh. But so's The Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H when you think about it. Its only because we are used to those kind of names that we accept them.. so The BoogeyMan name might take a while but YOU WILL get used to it believe me. ;) |
Anyone got a pic of what he looks like now?
|
It's hard not to judge him already, so he's definately got an uphill battle to convince us all he's worth all the hype
|
lol but wtf at the same time
|
damn i was lmao when i saw that freak tonight
|
Yea, that segment was the man. And so if the Boogeyman so far. I love how he goes back and forth between soft spoken and screaming.
|
I thought the promo was hilarious! And when it 'seemed' like he was getting 'serious' then he hits himself on the head with the clock. I predict his first match will be against Matt Hardy next week. I'd like to see his match against Kennedy though. That would be interesting.
Oh, almost forgot! ...Kennedy |

Seriously, his gapped teeth disturb me. Greatly.
He's future fodder for the Undertaker, you know it's going to happen. |
I see a Boogieman/Mordecai feud.
|
WTF is all i have to say :wtf: :shifty:
|
That dude scares the shit out of me seriously what the fuck is with the teeth
|
^
What he said, minus the "scares the shit out of me" bit. |
well not so much scares as bothers me immensly
|
Pic or a clip of the promo, anyone?
|
I thought his promo was pretty creepy [along with the teeth thing], just presented in a crappy way. That network guy introduced him. Now if only his makeup looked less like makeup...

http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/videos/ There you go, just click on the boggeyman clip. (It's the one with the guy in red and black facepaint smiling.) |
LOL`wtf was that. I dunnooo. Pretty ridiculous. What's with taking Freddy Krueger's "1, 2...etc" thing?
However it is definitely interesting and I like his phrase of "I'm the Boogeyman. I'm coming to get ya". I don't watch Smackdown since I work Friday nights but I'm gonna keep an eye on what they do with him. |
ROFL I was in "stitches" if you will

Well i have to say i pretty much liked it! :shifty:
I dont know why but as you know i love the far out gimmicks it just freshens the roster up if its done right. He didn't quite look like wrestlecrap material i thought he had potential. Maybe this is going to be how he changes in time because he has "potential" his look might develop over the next month or two, and he will probably get more and more matches. Im interested in this character, his promo showed some good promo skills considering he's hardly got any experience on tv. He has potential for a 40 year old! Umm can he wrestle? :shifty: |
He certainly plays the character well, but the question has to be asked, does the character have a point? I personally think this could be good, and I loved the way that Theodore Long and Palmer Canon didn't try to play him up as completely frightening as if he really was "The Boogeyman", but instead they were seemingly in awe of his intensity.
I think The Boogeyman needs to play some kind of psychologist type of character. I know it sounds really stupid, but I think they have potential to have him hypnotise people and use them to his advantage. I can very easily see him facing Nunzio this week, but before he gets in the ring, Vito attacks Nunzio and hits him with all his signature moves, and then in come Boogeyman, BAM! Clock over the head of Vito, Boogeyman covers Nunzio, 1-2-3. If they try and turn him into some kind of evil voodoo priest, this might fall short, but if they try and add depth to his mentality, and come up with good reasoning for the "Boogeyman" identity, I think he could make a solid mid-card act as the very least. |
Point #1) This point doesn't really count, but you can't be too intense/creepy when your promo is a giant lispy slur. The clock to the face was fun, but other than that, he tried too hard and he ripped of Krueger BIG TIME and that actually pissed me off.
Point #2) The only really "smart" way to use this character, at least for his first year, is to have him basically being Canon's muscle bitch. By that, I mean he basically owes his job on SD to Canon. So when Canon says "Jump", BG says "How high?" It'll basically turn into another corporate thing, where a face makes a snide remark about Canon being a dick and walking on Teddy Lizzle's authority, so Canon says, "Boogey...go get him." And we have a fued. It could eventually split SD completely down the middle; heels hatin' on Teddy side with "The Network" and faces that hate Canon's abuse of power and general dickery would side with Teddy and/or SmackDown. I highly doubt any of this will come to be, but it shows the potential greatness factor of a spastic character under the influence of a heel boss. |
Or they can put him over as someone criminally insane.
Teddy's reaction was priceless though. Quote:

It's pathetic. Let me show you something:
INT. My house. I'm watching Smackdown when my dad joins me. DAD: Oh your not watching this rubbish are you? ME: Dad, it's not rubbish. It's great. DAD: It's for kids. ME: No it's not. Everyone on it is adult and cool and.... TV: I'M THE BOOGEYMAN AND I'M GOING TO GET YOU!!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ME: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... |
I thought it was hilarious. First off, the part with the clock, it wasn't even 2:45, and if he really wanted to be scary, he would have screamed at the camera. That would have made me jump
|
Has anyone actualy seen this guy in the ring.Hes terrible.Especialy when he walks around the ring spelling out his damn name.B-O-O-G-E-Y-M-A-N you can imagine how long that takes.Just another matt morgan to me.
|
I don't know... This is one of those gimmicks where it has the potential to be SO bad, that it goes around the meter back to good again.
Please tell me he didn't get his teeth pulled for this gimmick... |
<font color=goldenrod>I loved it......it was hilarious. ROFL @ Teddy's reaction
"I'M THE BOOGEYMAN.....AND I'M COMING TO GET YA..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......ha....."</font> |
