The Butterfly Effect

I just saw this movie, it was one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. I was so stunned at how amazing this movie is. SEE THIS MOVIE

The Mask 01-23-2004 11:42 PM

hey, if you vote for it on imdb now you'll be one of the first people :'(

FakeLaser 01-24-2004 12:27 AM

I just saw it too. It was pretty good, but it dragged on WAYYYYY too long towards the end.

Bad Guy 01-24-2004 12:44 AM

there's a movie called the butterfly effect now?

#1-norm-fan 01-24-2004 04:38 AM

I wanted to see this movie for a bit cause I'm a huge Ashton kutcher fan. Then I heard the reviews were horrible and started doubting it but this topic is pretty positive. I think I'll go tomorrow.

Zelda 01-24-2004 10:54 AM

All I know is that critics hated it around here.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-24-2004 11:02 AM

The fat guy from Mallrats is in it

Yeah. Looks like they took a good premise and basically butchered it.

I'll wait until it comes out on video, unless one of my friends sees it and can give a positive review.

YOUR Hero 01-24-2004 10:12 PM

Jordan X approves = stay away from it.

The Miz 01-24-2004 11:26 PM

i read some article that ashton kutcher sofia coppola'd this movie.

Jordan 01-25-2004 12:09 AM

My review got on the main page at IMDB, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289879/.

Blitz 01-25-2004 01:35 PM

I was pleasantly suprised at how much I liked it, seeing as how I usually hate anything involving Ashton Kutcher. If you suspend disbelief and ignore some of the weird plot developments, you'll like it.

And for some reason, i found myself getting a little emotional at the last scene (with Oasis playing in the background).

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-25-2004 10:37 PM

I cant take this him seriously

"YOU JUST GOT PUNKED WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

KingofOldSchool 01-25-2004 11:14 PM

It was interesting...

DegenerationY 01-26-2004 12:49 AM

Actually, I thought it was surprisingly quite good.

Not the best movie i've ever seen, nor the most realistic, but yeah, it was a good use of 20 bucks for a night.

It's hard to be realistic when making a movie about time travel.

DegenerationY 01-26-2004 01:02 AM

EXACTLY

benefit of the doubt =

Bo 01-27-2004 03:46 AM

Yeah I enjoyed it too. Made me think about why somthings happen in life.

Hardkore Kidd J 01-27-2004 03:33 PM

Very good movie I liked it :)

Jason Cage 01-29-2004 12:01 PM

that movie was tha shit.

 @ Se7en cameo :p

What Would Kevin Do? 01-31-2004 12:52 AM

If you accept the movie as is, it's great. If you start picking it apart however, looking at the paradoxs and the plot holes, it's loses a little of it's appeal. Basically it's one of those movies that has to be self contained, and has to be totally detatched from logical reality.

Innovator 01-31-2004 04:52 PM

I liked the movie, I thought Kutcher actually did a good job being serious

BCWWF 11-14-2004 06:44 AM

I just watched it tonight and was stunned by how good it was. The director did a great job of bringing you into the movie, there were many times where I cringed with fear or jumped with shock. Kutcher really did do a good job if you ask me, I wasn't caught up in his Kelso act at all.

The reason that this is getting so many negative reviews is because it was not made for the people who wrote them. It is clearly based towards the college age student. I don't think any of the elements in it were of bad taste, its just that the reviewers are too old and don't like the use of the word "fuck".

It really does bring you in. Its not the best movie ever made, but it really is a good movie for the 16-22 age demographic. I would recommend renting it if you haven't already.

GARAGExBANDxGEEK 11-14-2004 12:20 PM

Great movie

YOUR Hero 11-14-2004 12:23 PM

I've yet to see it, but I did like the concept. Is it out on DVD/rental yet?

GARAGExBANDxGEEK 11-14-2004 12:42 PM

Ya

John la Rock 11-14-2004 01:34 PM

I'm not a big fan of Ashton Kutcher so I think I'll pass

BCWWF 11-14-2004 04:12 PM

Its not Ashton Kutcher like normal though, if you in the mood for a good suspence thriller I would recommend it.

The Outlaw 11-14-2004 04:33 PM

Yeah through the whole thing I was thinking he was going to come out and be like "YOU GOT PUNKEDDDDDD"

It was surprisingly good though I thought.

samichna 11-14-2004 05:58 PM

I heard that it is total shit.

Buzzkill 11-14-2004 06:02 PM

I have heard MIXED REVIEWS regarding this picture

FakeLaser 11-14-2004 06:55 PM

Upon multiple viewings, I find the movie to be excellent.

Dave Youell 11-15-2004 03:27 AM

I thinks it's brilliant, when i watched the DVD i didn't have high hopes, but my god was i wrong.

Triple A 11-15-2004 04:31 AM

Whoa. I didn't see that coming. BTW, what are your thoughts on Requiem For A Dream? Because I saw that movvie a while back and thought it was utter crap. Like it was ok for the first hour, but it just didn't go anywhere and I lost interest pretty quickly after that.

DaveWadding 11-15-2004 09:58 AM

I'll put it in my list.
