Finally getting a PS2
 

My sister's bf is giving up his PS2 to me (I went from Nintendo to XBox and missed out on the Sony bandwagon party) because I'm getting sick of having little to no RPGs to play (outside of some choice Star Wars game & Fable).

So, outside of Shinning Force Neo & SD! v Raw 06, I need some games to play and buy after I pick up the new system.

Let me here it guys, what should I pick up?

Metal.Gear.Solid.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, although you may as well just wait for Subsistence for 3, since it's going to have extras including a free roaming camera.

If you're looking into RPGs, I'd recommend the .Hack series and the Shin Megami Tensei series, although Nocturne is a bit involved. If you like story driven RPGs, the Xenosaga series.

Also, if you didn't get them for X Box or PC, the entire GTA series. :y:

Of course, if you don't/never had a PS1, there's that entire library to look at as well.

The guilty gear games are pretty hot if ou are into 2d fighters. Isuka may not be your thing tho, so skip that one.

Firstly, Devil May Cry 3 is longer and better than God Of War. GOW gets boring after the first short playthrough.

Secondly, for RPGs, you can't fault either Disgaea or Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Skip out on FFX, thats rubbish too.

And yes, Guilty Gear owns all.

I adored FFX. It was a welcome game after the trainwreck that was 9.


I'll agree that DMC 3 > God of War by far. Had SO much fun with DMC.
