Dinsmore breaks Caracter

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Eugene recently broke character at a RAW house show in front of the entire audience. When walking to the back, a fan yelled out "You can do better than this", to which Eugene broke character and replied to, in a normal voice, saying "I know". We hope to have more on this story soon, including what, if any, punishment Eugene got for not only breaking character in front of fans, but actually doing it at ringside. WWE has been making Eugene stay in character whenever fans come around or someone recognizes him outside of WWE events ever since he started the gimmick.

Im hoping the end is near for Eugene.

The Gimmick was Cute to begin with but now it is unbelivably Stale.

Nick Dinsmore is a great Wrestler who Deserves better.

I doubt there will be a backlash as it was at a house show and they are irrelevant. I hope they end the character soon tbh. I enjoyed when he first came on the scene but know I just feel sorry for him. Pity isn't something particularly good for a wrestlers career.

They'll probably have himt ake the fall to Rob Conway at Taboo Tuesday or something.

I hope they use this as a stepping stone to do what Watson said they could od ith the character (I think it was Watson, anyway), and that was to have him come out and reveal Eric Bischoff is forcing him to play the character, and he's sick of it, and he's going to be Nick Dinsmore from now on. Hell, have him jump over to SmackDown! and aid them in the Interpromotional Tag Team Match at Taboo Tuesday. Nick Dinsmore in the US Title scene = :drool:.

That's...incredibly sad. I feel bad for Nick, being stuck in that character for so long without really going anywhere. At first, I even thought that story was a joke, until I saw the credit.

I think it's probably an attitude shared by half the locker room. Dinsmore's just more obvious because he's playing a retard. But you can do better and nobody would ever see you, or do what you're doing in front of one of the biggest pro wrestling audiences.

If they were to re-create his character I would prefer it as a heel turn rather than an "Eric was forcing me to do this" angle. Have him actually in cahoots with Eric, and that Eric and Nick created the character to prove that the fans are so stupid they would even cheer for a retard, may be a more interesting angle to take. Of course we'd have to selectively ignore a whole bunch of History, but we are all pretty good at doing that.

The end of the day problem is Nick lacks a very good look. It works well with the current character, but how do you make it work with something new?

My suggestion came more out of a response to a resounding "There is no way they could make him a face after this."

Honestly, I don't care if he's a face or heel. I'm just hoping to see him wrestle as something not retarded.

Imagine if after he returns from injury he brings a lawyer with him who threatens to sue Raw if Eugene isn't given special treatment because of his special status. He gets to wrestle his opponents in unfair circumstances, he gets choice title matches, he can attack people without repercussions, etc.

He'd still be retarded (the comical part being more or less gone) and we'd be reminded about it week in week out and constantly boo him cause he's being an asshole about it and getting away with it.

Have you guys ever seen the King of the Hill episode where Hank hires a meth addict and then they can't fire him on the grounds that he's considered disabled since he's a meth addict? That's basically the idea

I say they take Conway and Dinsmore off Raw...repackage them, and then bring them back on TV as a babyface tag team to feud with Cade/Murdoch.

Dinsmore should come out and reveal that he was never slow, and as a matter of fact, is a certified genius. He could become himself with that gimmick and have more room to grow, either as a smart-ass or an asshole.

They can always take the easy route: Move him to SmackDown and do the same thing they did with Christian, destroy his push.

I like the idea of The Lords of the Ring being reformed. It seems like bad-timing, though, because Eugene and Rob Conway are in the thick of a feud involving WWE Legends.

I really think they should let Conway & Dinsmore WRESTLE at Taboo Tuesday, give the PPV a reason to order the replay, and then you can have reveal whatever the Hell you want about them, but just have them team together.

I suppose you could have Dinsmore turn on the Legend he's with, and then he and Conway reveal they're really partners, and you can have them feud with new face World Tag Team Champions (Val Venis & Viscera/the Taboo Tuesday rejectees).

They could give him special pills that make him normal. Then he sees how everyone was treating him with pity and becomes an asshole.

Then people try and steal his pills so he goes back to being retarded.

Actually, Taboo Tuesday would be a great way to turn Dinsmore and introduce the lords of the ring. Basically, have their match and midway through Eugene snaps out of his retard shtick and just grabs a chair and whoops the shit out of his tag team partner. Conway smirks and Eugene gets the mic and speaks to the stunned crowd. He goes on a rant about how he has been forced to play a retard by WWE, but moreso it is the fans fault for cheering his ass and making him popular. He says that he is going to make everybody regret the day they cheered Eugene.
