Christian to TNA already? (rumors running rampant!)

Partial Source: PWInsider.com

WWE.com has posted photos of the RAW diva girls backstage getting ready for Monday's Halloween contest.

WWE.com posted a story yesterday noting that they received over 10 million hits last month. They also noted "In a continued effort to be the most informative and entertaining wrestling Web site, WWE.com is working on several new projects scheduled to be rolled out over the next few months." Looks like we may have ourselves some competition!

WWE has announced a two day tour of Japan on February 4th and 5th for the Smackdown workers.

Rob Van Dam has posted new commentary at RobVanDam.com where he talks about Joey Styles returning to the announce booth.

Todays Globe and Mail has a story noting that Bret Hart settled his legal lawsuit against Lloyds of London, coming out of his career-ending injury at the foot of Bill Goldberg.

According to sources, Christian is all but confirmed to sign with TNA. In real life, he is good friends with both Rhino and TNA booking committee member Scott D'Amore and a deal is said to be all but signed. The travel schedule with TNA also appeals to him as he wants to get into movies and actually already has a big role lined up for him in February.

nice. Christian resides in Florida so that should be a beneift to him too

Volchok 11-05-2005 06:03 PM

Shame he can't use the name Christian... which I really don't get how Vince can copyright that... does that mean I can be sued since i'm a christian?

Nervous Ferret 11-05-2005 06:06 PM

Christian 3===D

Mr. Nerfect 11-05-2005 06:06 PM

Christian's just started building a family, but I don't thnk someone as talented or as charismatic as him can stay out of the spotlight for long (or want to). Being able to drive down the road, go out, wrestle a match that will be accessible all over the world seems right up Christian's ally.

Would he be able to use his "Christian Cage" name? Maybe "Christian Reso"? They can't trademark the name "Christian" can they?

I think he would be able to trademark the showname "Christian". So a young wrestler can't come in calling himself "Christian" to get attention or something.

I am curious as to how far Vinnie Mac has the term "Christian" trademarked. Can they use it as part of his name?

UmbrellaCorporation 11-05-2005 06:15 PM

If Christian goes to TNA, I will gladly eat crow and start watching it.

TNA doesn't have anyone I really care about, but Christian alone is enough to make me watch.

New captain of Team Canada?

Funky Fly 11-05-2005 06:30 PM

Whoo for Christian. BTW, speaking of Team Canada, where the hell is Johnny Devine these days?

Though I must admit...Christian vs. Petey is something I'd like to see.

Dead to me.

Funky Fly 11-05-2005 06:36 PM

Next Team Canada question: why does A1 never wrestle? I have seriously never seen a match of his.

Kane Knight 11-05-2005 06:40 PM

Anything tied to the anme "Christian" Can be considered "market confusion." So I'm betting Christian Cage will not fly.

Nark Order 11-05-2005 06:43 PM

Jason Reso is fine. He should just use his name.

Kane Knight 11-05-2005 06:49 PM

I think he should go find the guy who owns "Captain Charisma" and license it.

Because it would be a perfect transition into his return, D'Amore could exclaim that Team Canada is in serious need of a change. He could fire Petey and bring in Reso. It would be perfect cause he's "The Captain".

Vietnamese Crippler 11-05-2005 06:52 PM

Captain Canada

Kane Knight 11-05-2005 07:02 PM

I'd prefer he just form team Charisma.

LK 11-05-2005 07:13 PM

Best of luck to the guy, maybe, just maybe this could be the start of something serious. I don't think it will but just maybe, it might be.

LK 11-05-2005 07:14 PM

BTW Funky Fly, A1 doesn't wrestle cause he's fucking awful.

I was just looking at trademarks, and "Captain Charisma" isn't taken. "Captain Christian" is, though.

If it turns out I'm wrong, I appologize.

V 11-05-2005 07:24 PM

i don't watch TNA, i don't think it' seven on in canada

but if he's not gonna be in WWE, i guess this is the best possible thing for him

let's hope he gets treated better there if he does end up there

It's not listed on uspto.gov

The reports are interesting, but there's no evidence of an actual trademark.

Next Team Caada question: What is A1's finisher? The Steaksauce Drop?

I was pretty sure it was since the WWE didn't make anymore Captain Charisma shirts.

I guess I could be wrong though.

Loose Cannon 11-05-2005 07:48 PM

Chris Chin

Impact! 11-05-2005 07:49 PM

Chris Chain

ddpBANG 11-05-2005 07:52 PM

ChrisTNA

Xero 11-05-2005 08:05 PM

I still say he should use Chris Tin. He could call the Unprettier the Can Opener. :shifty:

Not to doubt this, but can someone give me the link to where this is on PWinsider, because I can't find it on the site.

It's called a Pump Handle Slam. But we can give it the name Steaksauce Drop.

Or we could call it One Way to the Unemployment Line. BECAUSE A1 SUCKS!

KingofOldSchool 11-05-2005 09:37 PM

Canadian Charisma

That was the story going around, which is why I said that Jason should buy/license the name the guy who ownd it. However, there is no actual REGISTERED Trademark, making me wonder if the validity is there.

Corkscrewed 11-05-2005 10:03 PM

Well, this should be a great move for TNA. As long as they don't bury him...

KayfabeMan 11-05-2005 10:27 PM

How 'bout just Chris Cage, instead of Christian Cage.

If not, just use his real name like someone said above.

Maybe there is no registered trademark, but there might have been a guy using the name before them who said if they moved forward with a trademark attempt he'd contest it, and there may have been enough evidence that he could block it, etc. - so they just dropped it. Just a possibility.

Except they have more money to throw at such an issue than a single person or promotion has. You mean to tell me that the WWE wouldn't fear actual court orders on the ECW trademarks, didn't fear the World Wildlife Fund even after they were sued out of the name, but feared some shmuck with a gimmick (No offense to the guy)?
