Rate the Tag Team - Day 34 - The Thrill Seekers

http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com...seekers/02.jpg

Welcome everyone to another day and another edition of Rate the Tag Team. If you remember last time we rated The Collosal Connection and they scored a decent 66. Not too bad for a team where only one member could actually move.

Today we have a team that maybe not a lot of you know. I know you will recognize these two men. Before they came to the Big 3 they were tag teaming together in Canada, Japan and Mexico. They were the first ever CRMW (Canadian Rocky Mountain Wrestling) tag champions. They then spent about a year in Smokey Mountain Wrestling and had some good matches with the Heavenly Bodies. I remember them from IWA in Canada and everybody knew they were going to be stars. This is "Lionheart" Chris Jericho and Lance Storm, The Thrill Seekers!!!

You gotta start doing these more frequently, dude. That, or start going by the week

Destor 11-17-2005 09:04 PM

Can't say I've ever heard of them. Which means they had no impact on the business, 0. Love 'em as singles though.

i have seen many of their matches.... solid 10

Eunos 11-18-2005 09:27 AM

They look like a big Rockers rip off..

But i like both Guys so ill give them an 8

hb2k 11-18-2005 10:46 AM

Well herein lies the problem - most people won't have seen their stuff. By reputation Jericho and Storm would be great, but they didn't get over that well in SMW because they were, in the words of Jim Cornette, very Japanese-influenced, and they did stuff that didn't translate well to SMW. They went on to greater heights since, obviously, but they wouldn't warrant a high score from most people if they really saw them and witnessed a lot of their stuff as a team, because they didn't set the world on fire.

Funky Fly 11-19-2005 03:53 PM

Isn't there an OVW team by the same name?

hb2k 11-19-2005 06:40 PM

Matt Cappotelli and Johnny Jeter used the Thrill Seeker name (with Lance Storm's blessing, I believe), but they've since split and are feuding.

Funky Fly 11-19-2005 07:29 PM

Right.

5. I'd like to give them higher, but I've seen very little of them as a team.... and they look gay.

You should do the Hollywood Blondes soon :) My personal favorite team ever.

Ya know, I almost didn't vote for that very reason. Then I realized that If all the people who had never seen this obscure team didn't vote they would get some bs high score, when the clearly don't deserve one as they had absolutely no impact on tag team wrestling. This is just like putting up any Indy tag team and expecting only the people who go to this particular fed to vote, except this teams members happen to have had successful careers afterwords thus some people have actually seem their matches. Maybe some of us have followed since they were a team, not likely, possible none the less. Whatever, its not like Hurricane has to count my vote anyhow.

mrslackalack 11-21-2005 02:11 PM

Lance Storm in that pic looks like David off of Roseanne.

mrslackalack 11-21-2005 02:13 PM

Never seen them wrestle as the Thrill Seekers, but If a Jericho DVD comes out, I hope they put a match or two on there of his Thrill Seeker stint.

Well honestly, I can't believe you never heard of them. My guess is you are some new wrestling fan that dosn't know to much about the history of wrestling. (Not that I know much)
