Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire

I saw this movie yesterday and I thought it was pretty good. I think the only problem with it is that is was really fast paced and it was like skimming through the book. But I guess they had to do that because the book is so long. I thought it was pretty good though, it had a bunch of LOL parts and it matched the book for what was put it in the movie.

Boondock Saint 11-19-2005 06:50 PM

Me likey. I dunno if it was better than Azkaban. Have to think about it a bit more.

Tornado 11-19-2005 07:17 PM

I should be seeing it next week, looking forward to it.
Goblet of Fire was my favourite book out of the series anyway.

el fregadero 11-19-2005 10:02 PM

Was sold-out last nite here and I don't feel like going tonight. I want to see it pretty bad though.

Champion of Europa 11-19-2005 10:15 PM

I saw it with my co-workers on Thursday night. I actually quite enjoyed it. I didn't expect to, because the only one I saw was the first Harry Potter movie.

Penner 11-20-2005 02:42 PM

Did you read the books COE?

Nope.

I did watch Azkaban last night, and I think I like that more. Gary Oldman is such the man.

The Icon of Elisim 11-22-2005 12:09 AM

Azkaban was painful to sit through. Never read the books but it was terrible

el fregadero 11-22-2005 12:11 AM

Azkaban should have been longer than the first two were. I understand they want to appeal to younger kids so it isn't gonna be 4 hours long, but they really should start being around that length as the books get longer.

Impact! 11-22-2005 04:07 AM

I'm gonna see it while high, should be fun.

FourFifty 11-22-2005 04:11 AM

As a movie the Goblet of Fire was alright. Just as good as the third movie, but not better ('cept for some of the visual effects)... As part of the Harry Potter story... Spoilers comming up, highlight to read.

I think someone got high when they wrote the screen play. They had an idea of wtf was going on but there were so many things that were left out that NEEDED to be there for the next movie! I wanted to see more of Rita Skeeter and it's just... It was a hardcore let down...

And the thing is I already saw it twice...

Skipped school and saw it.. It was pretty sweet

loopydate 11-23-2005 12:43 AM

Saw it this afternoon. Good stuff. Brendan Gleason was an excellent choice for Moody.

Penner 11-23-2005 12:58 PM

I didn't know how people would react to watching it without fully understanding it because it was so fast paced.

By not reading the book I mean.

Extreme Angle 11-23-2005 01:39 PM

why did barty crouch keep licking his lips and stuff?

loopydate 11-23-2005 06:56 PM

Because he's eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil!

Fox 11-24-2005 07:57 PM

Great movie, except that it moved a little bit too fast. That's the problem with these fucking adaptations - there's too much material to cover in 500 pages than you can accomplish in 2.5 hours without everything feeling rushed.

Still, good movie. And Hermione is so fuckable.

It's a shame shes only 15.

Rain Man 11-26-2005 01:58 AM

I have never read or book or seen a Harry Potter movie before this one.. But it was pretty kickass.. And that one biddie is fucking banging.

Penner 11-27-2005 02:39 PM

Which "biddie"

Shadow 11-28-2005 05:54 PM

Damn age limits.

Wait...isn't she British? THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

The Gooch 11-29-2005 09:33 AM

I really enjoyed it. I thought they did job considering they had to chop so much out.

Like others I'm not sure how I would of reacted to the movie had I not read the book prior to seeing it.

Well anyway, I don't like Harry Potter. In fact I despise Harry Potter but the only reason I'm posting here is to post this.

Can't you tell? She's what Americans stereotypicalise us British as; posh snobby, (yet fuckable :naughty: ) and stuck up.

A girl in my class was like 3rd choice to be Hermione and told me that Emma Watson is a right stuck-up bitch (although this could be more jealousy than anything). Emma Watson is much more fuckable than this girl, so I'm not complaining :o, she's not a bad actress either (except for the business with the eyebrows).

She's a month older than me. I'll be her toyboy .

Shadow 11-29-2005 08:40 PM

.....Oh lordy.

Downunder 11-30-2005 04:38 AM

I agree with penner - the movie missed a lot of the human emotion of the book, it did seem to skip over a lot of detail. but there is only so much tetail you can fit into a movie. As a stand alone it was pretty good, but it's really not fair to judge it next to the book.

As in most cases, the book was better.

Penner 12-03-2005 07:19 PM

Yeah the book was definitely better.

Zelda 12-31-2005 12:04 PM

I saw this movie yesterday and I thought it was pretty good. I never read any Harry Potter books.

Disturbed316 12-31-2005 03:04 PM

Saw this a couple of weeks back, really enjoyed it. Probably the best film of the series.
