GOT THE BOX

Yeah, I was waiting at Wal-Mart since 4:30pm.

It got really swamped. It was insane. I'll detail more tomorrow. For now... TO PLAY Condemned!

RP 11-22-2005 01:55 AM

MORE INPUT!

RP 11-22-2005 04:25 AM

Every game accept for Call of Duty 2 looks like shit. I havent seen Dead or Alive yet tho. Perfect Dark looks pretty good. Everything else looks horrible and unoriginal.

Funky Fly 11-22-2005 05:08 AM

Thanks to some oil surplus in my province, I am getting $400 in gubment cheese. Add to that $250 I recently came into and that might = XBox 360 for me.

How sad but true...
Condemned looked interesting as well, but then someone said there was some killer repetition in there and I personally hate lazy games that just have you repeat the same shit over. Other than that, the game looks good. Kinda like a cross between Manhunt and ...er....i dunno. It has some Chronicles of Riddick in there...gonna have to see the game being played in front of me though to confirm if the graphics are any better.

BTW, HOW BIG IS IT?

LIKE BIGGER AND HEVAIER THAN THE FIRST?

even though I vaguely recollect them saying it'd be lighter and smaller =_=

Bad Company 11-22-2005 06:29 PM

www.hardocp.com has good reviews.
Whats it like Ninti?

Gonzo 11-22-2005 07:22 PM

I heard Madden 360 is absolute shit.

Savio 11-22-2005 07:24 PM

Will Perfect dark be the SSBM of the 360 until halo 3 comes out?

The Greater Power 11-24-2005 05:50 PM

Madden

I suggest watching the first clip, Raiders vs. Broncos. Looks pretty damn good, although I'm waiting on the PS3.

No Superstar mode on 360, apparently, and no play challenges either, from what I hear.

McDoogle 11-24-2005 06:12 PM

Yea basically it's just the basic football game.

Buzzkill 11-24-2005 06:40 PM

Technology is slowing down.

loopydate 11-24-2005 07:09 PM

The only reason I'd even consider getting a 360 would be for Perfect Dark Zero. The graphics are slightly more improved over the original Box, but not enough to warrant a new system already. I can understand wanting to get a leg up on the next-gen systems from Sony and Nintendo, but I thought that the original Box still had a ton of potential.

Leave it to Microsoft, I guess, to rush out a new product when there isn't really necessarily anything wrong with the old one. "Yeah, but this one's FASTER!"

LoDownM 11-25-2005 12:17 AM

Perfect Dark 0 does indeed rule, so does Call of Duty 2. But otherwise, until N3 comes out, I don't think i'll buy more then those 2 games when I get mine in Janurary.

PS3 and MGS4 tho, soon as you can reserve them, i'm doing it.

Ninti the Mad 11-25-2005 12:28 PM

Okay. Time for a little mini review if you will.

Xbox = ownage

I love the fact that you can turn off the system with YOUR CONTROLLER. You can also access the xbox menus while you are playing a game. It is just smooth. It's a heavy machine. No doubt. The fan is also distracting. It sounds louder than my PC. No big deal though.

Now games.

I've only played Kameo, Perfect Dark, and Condemned.

I'll start with Kameo. BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS. I was awe struck for awhile in certain areas. Especially when you get a horse and start running through trolls. Literally thousands of them. The gameplay, which surprising I thought was going to suck, is exceptional. It has alot of Zelda elements. You know how you set buttons for hookshot, boomerang, etc. In this game, you set buttons for elemental powers which you transform into. At first, I also thought it was a linear game set by level to level action with no in between. WRONG. You can go anywhere on your map and you get money to buy upgrades. You also have to find these fruits that give you points to spend on upgrading your elementals. I definetely recommend this game.

Condemned. I know this game has garnered alot of talk. At first glance, when you start using it, you flip out. Crazy ass atmosphere gets you in the mood. It has some Silent Hill elements. Flash light. Eery sounds. It also has some funny moments like when your character goes, "Federal agent, come out where I can see you" and the guy who is hiding goes "fucccck youuu". The graphics are also pretty awesome. I just have to say I am a little dossapointed in the repetition and how insanely linear the title is. I would recommend this game as a rental. It has some replay value if you wanna look for certain items in the elvels to get 100% and brag online but not much else.

Now... Perfect Dark. What can I say? KJASHDUIAGDIUAGDAI

This game kept its roots. If you liked the original one, you are going to love this one. This game needs no analysis.

Now, some people are saying how the graphics jump isnt that big. WRONG. All the x-box exclusive games that I listed up here are awesome graphically. There is a BIG JUMP. Of course, the ports that are coming from ps2 and xbox arent going to be much different. THEY ARE PORTS.

Overall, I am happy I got the xbox and cant wait to try more games.

RoXer 11-25-2005 01:06 PM

Yeah, the only reason I would want an X360 is for PDZ. Maybe I'll win one or I'll get one for $20 or so. FINGERS CROSSED.

Kris P Lettus 11-25-2005 01:11 PM

I bought an X-Box like a month ago with the intention of trading it in at Best Buy ($150 credit towards the 360) soon..

Perfect Dark sold me on it due to my addiction to the N64 version.. Kameo sounds tight also..

Might try to pick it up once they restock..

:y:

Kris P Lettus 11-26-2005 03:38 PM

Ninti, on the $400 version, does it come with a DVD function or is that after market upgrade??

My friend did that with his bike. He put something like "you are bidding on three pictures of this bike" and some other shit. Sold for like $300. The dude who bought it told eBay though and my friend ended up having to give the money back and eBay banned him :-\

Still funny though

Jason Cage 11-28-2005 12:10 AM

^

wtf? Why the shit did he have to pay him back?

Well, the 400 one comes with a DVD remote but I'm sure the 300 one plays DVD's as well.

Bad Guy 11-28-2005 03:07 PM

Condemned is great. And I'm only through 3 levels.

samichna 11-28-2005 03:19 PM

GEEK CENTRAL

Zelda 11-28-2005 11:01 PM

My mother won an XBox 360, and I'm not so sure about something. Are all old XBox games compatible with it, or is it only some titles?

DS 11-28-2005 11:06 PM

Only some titles. Which is very disappointing.

Splinter Cell is unplayable and that is one of their biggest communities.

Zelda 11-28-2005 11:10 PM

What about Karaoke Revolution Party? :o

Funky Fly 11-29-2005 03:51 PM

And there you go.

Zelda 11-29-2005 09:50 PM

I thought there would be some kind of list, I just couldn't find it. :$

WTF, Karaoke Revolution Party came out 3 weeks before the X-Box 360 and they can't even manage to make it compatible.

Bad Company 11-29-2005 10:14 PM

who knows, there may be firmware updates available for the box that allow it to play moer games, give it time :p

Requiem 11-29-2005 10:19 PM

It's a pity they're all compatible only through emulation. Huge disappointment with that.. older games look TERRIBLE (ie worse than they did on normal xbox) through emulation. :(

McDoogle 11-29-2005 10:24 PM

I thought the old games were supposed to get a graphic update with the emulation.

Bad Company 11-29-2005 10:50 PM

Thanks to the Better video card inside the 360, it can force 4x AA and higher res rates on the older games, so they should be smoother.

Silent 11-30-2005 01:23 PM

I think that's a pretty bad move what Microsoft did with that partial compatibility. I can't believe you can still play Cabela's Deer Hunt 2005, but not fucking Splinter Cell!

McDoogle 11-30-2005 01:46 PM

Obviously people still play Fifa 2003.
