That guy holding the "CM Punk is the next Shawn Michaels" sign

Saw it again. At SS and again on RAW (or SD!)

Agree or disagree?

Danny Electric says hi

Joey Slugs 12-03-2005 01:54 PM

He could be

thecc 12-03-2005 02:01 PM

Nah, he's the first CM Punk.

Joey Slugs 12-03-2005 02:05 PM

they also said that jeff hardy was the next HBK.

Well Jeff Hardy was basically a spot monkey and CM punk isn't.;)

Lock Jaw 12-03-2005 02:40 PM

Do you want to C My Punk? :naughty:

The Naitch 12-03-2005 02:41 PM

choke on my spunk

BigDaddyCool 12-03-2005 02:43 PM

So let me get this straight, CM Punk is going to make his career in a ladder match with one of his best friends. Then he and his closest friends are going to play the biggest political games in WWF since Hogan? In this time, he will be a key part in screwing over the pride of Canadian wrestling. Then lose the belt to the biggest star of the next era of wrestling and then not be seen really for 4 or 5 years? Then from there he will be one of the best reasons to watch Monday night Raw?

Because that seems a little far fetched.

CM Punk is overrated. This sign is another example of it.

I do think he's got personality and some charisma, but I'm not sold on him completely that he can adapt and standout in the WWE in the ring.

Innovator 12-03-2005 03:01 PM

you're overrated

hb2k 12-03-2005 03:03 PM

Nobody rates me in the first place, so there.

Anyway, I'm not saying he isn't talented, but he isn't the "next shawn michaels". In fact, no-one is. And I think all the people jumping all over Punk are a little blind to the fact that he has a lot of weaknesses as well.

Schoenauer 12-03-2005 04:17 PM

Shawn Michaels has weaknesses too, but some of us don't care because in this case, the good outweighs the bad.

Savio 12-03-2005 04:21 PM

Never seen him wrestle.

He isn't the next HBK, hell the closest to the next HBK was Jericho since he dressed like him when he started out.

Punk is a great technical wrestler, and can pull an entertaining 60 minute match out of his ass.

BlackDawn2024 12-03-2005 05:00 PM

I've never seen Punk before. When is he supposed to debut?

Innovator 12-03-2005 05:12 PM

Dunno, he's doing great things down in OVW as the TV Champ. Him, Brent Albright and Ken Doane are having a good 3 way feud

hb2k 12-03-2005 05:46 PM

Punk can have good matches, but so can Bryan Danielson, and WWE fans would likely crap on his style is what I'm saying. Punk better than your average indy guy, but I wouldn't consider him great, definitely not the next Shawn Michaels.

LK 12-03-2005 05:50 PM

Like it has been said he will be the first CM Punk.

redoneja 12-03-2005 06:13 PM

Seems like a good time to plug the new sig

Bad Company 12-03-2005 06:27 PM

Yeah WWE fans wouldn't take to Dragon, he's entertaining

John la Rock 12-03-2005 06:45 PM

CM who?

ThruTheWire 12-03-2005 06:47 PM

CM Punk will never even be worthy of carrying Shawn Michaels bags.

Why not? Triple H was.

Innovator 12-03-2005 07:50 PM

CM Punk is better than you

Mr. Nerfect 12-03-2005 08:05 PM

CM Punk reminds me of Triple H more than anyone else. He's got mic skills that are so great, everyone forgets how talented he really is. Punk is underrated, if anything, IMO. A lot of people talk as if he's a one-trick pony (good indy gimmick), and they overlook what really makes him great, and that me might just in-fact, be the whole package.

I am still hoping CM Punk feuds with Triple H heading into WrestleMania. John Cena vs. Triple H just doesn't interest me at the present time.

To you maybe, but understand that guys that don't exude personality and charisma rarely get taken to by the masses, in-ring work be damned. Like it or not, the wrestling world isn't what you want it to be.

Nark Order 12-03-2005 09:12 PM

Naw, Shawn pwns him

Innovator 12-04-2005 04:52 PM

Punk better debut before Wrestlemania, it's in his hometown where he pretty much is considered a god

By the 1,000 people that know him. Seriously, are you that delusional?

Very good, but that doesn't stop the fact that he has the charisma of a tube sock, and the complexion of one too. I know he's good in the ring, I've seen him wrestle a ton of times, and he's great in his role as champion, but I'm not sure if he has the standout personality or look that would make anybody give a damn about him in WWE.

I said that because the guy is showing personality recently

And you bet your ass I'm delusional.

Destor 12-04-2005 05:19 PM

I would just like to chime in and say what works for a few thousand on the Indy Circuit rarely works on a national level. Just ftr.

If Punk were to wrestle on the WM card, he would get one of the biggest pops of the night. Serious. He is THAT big here.

Trust me man, there are more than a 1000 people here in Chicago who know who CM Punk is.

Plus, I know him.

Joey Slugs 12-04-2005 09:20 PM

I have yet to see really see him in OVW, but is he using the sXe gimmick (not a gimmick to him)?
