Possible big spoiler - The "Major Announcement" set for Turning Point

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

"This was not confirmed at press time, but there is a good chance this big news would be the return of Sting, possibly for a longer-term committment."

Well, we'll soon see...

Thoughts?

Destor 12-09-2005 09:43 AM

I thought Sting had retired?

DaVe 12-09-2005 09:47 AM

Same, really (oops, I mean to Mr. Destor's original post).

LK 12-09-2005 09:56 AM

Meh

Xero 12-09-2005 10:07 AM

Oooo! Wow! An old wrestler is going to change/save TNA! Hey, wasn't that WCW's philosophy?

(I mean besides throwing up on the booking sheet every show.)

Well if Sting went to the WWE you'd all be interested, so I think this is quite a good coupe for TNA as Vince has been after him for ages

JH 12-09-2005 10:45 AM

sting still has ALOT of fans out there including myself(he's my favorite of all time) and if this is true it will help ratings tremendously

Coup...

If Sting went to the WWE I'd be about as interested as I am in Flair or the new LOD.

hb2k 12-09-2005 10:55 AM

I'd go so far as to say that Sting's face paint is better than LOD's though.

RGWhat316 12-09-2005 03:01 PM

Even though this probably still won't get me watching, this is still good for them if it's true. Sting is one of the only big names from WCW that hasn't been in WWE. So TNA might achieve one victory that Vince couldn't

Corkscrewed 12-09-2005 04:31 PM

The fans will chant SELL OUT SELL OUT while the announcers put him over as the best face ever.

LOLLLLLL That's what they did with Samoa Joe at Genesis. He's attacking Daniels and fans scream JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE JOE! Tenay then says, "fans are shocked, stunned, and disgusted by Joe's actions here!"

Sting Fan 12-09-2005 05:29 PM

Hmmm, it's hard to say how big of an impact this will have as Sting has been out of the limelight for a ling time. THat being sad he was a legitimate draw and I know that I for one as a hardcore WCW (and Sting) fan will probably try and get a hold of the PPV and following shows if he is back.

But that's also no different from King saying "The fans just love John Cena!" when every move sdone by Cen is getting boos and a large "Cena Sucks" chant is going.

In fract it is different, because Cena's still largely getting a positive reaction, waning or not.

With TNA fans, there's NO dispute whatsoever.

Dorkchop 12-09-2005 11:23 PM

As long as Sting is still good in the ring, I'll love it. I was a UUUUUGE Sting fan. Like mad huge. My ex girlfriend dressed as him for halloween. SHe was black and white Sting, and I was Wolfpac Sting. I even dressed as him the year before too. Wow, I'm a huge nerd.

Marcyo 12-09-2005 11:51 PM

They'd better bring him in with the Crow gimmick, or they're going nowhere. WCW marks don't care about the wrestler, they care about the gimmick.

Nowhere Man 12-09-2005 11:55 PM

Well, considering Sting's been doing the Crow gimmick for the past 8 years now, I don't think you've got too much to worry about there.
