4. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

D Mac 12-23-2005 09:13 AM

I'm sorry but I thought Revenge of the Sith was shit. I liked the final battle between Obi Wan and Anakin but the rest of the movie was pretty boring. Just throwing things together to try to end the series. Although the Matrix Revolutions was much worse in the same sense.

Morgan 12-23-2005 11:18 AM

Batman Begins
The Descent
King Kong
Star wars episode 3
War of the worlds

No order there and I'm probably forgetting a few. I actually enjoyed Star Wars though I get what Diesel means some shitty dialogue and "NOOOOOO" aside, I thought it was a big improvement on the last two.

Sickboy 12-23-2005 12:45 PM

Sin City
Batman Begins
Star Wars Episode III
War Of the Worlds

I only put 4 since I haven't seen King Kong yet,but I intend to.

5.one of Stay/Sin City/Serenity/Elizabethtown

Munich and Brokeback Mountain will probably get in the top 5 though

loopydate 12-23-2005 03:24 PM

I'd need to see a list of all the major releases this year, because I've seen a bunch of movies. I'll probably post my list closer to New Year's once I've had a chance to dig through old ticket stubs.

Serenity will be #1, though. No doubt.

Kapoutman 12-23-2005 03:50 PM

1. Star Wars
2. Batman Begins
3. 40 Yea-old Virgin
4. Wedding Crashers
5. Sin City

RBM 12-23-2005 08:26 PM

Crash (my pic for Academy award, although I doubt it will even be nominated)
40 Year Old Virgin
Wedding Crashers

That's all I really liked from this year, for the most part. I saw Sin City and Batman Begins but I didn't really like them. I have no interest in seeing Brokeback Mountain, Walk the Line and Cinderella Man. I still want to see, Serenity, Munich, Syriana and King Kong though.

YOUR Hero 12-23-2005 08:47 PM

No order.

Sin City
Wedding Crashers
40 Year Old Virgin
Batman Begins

I guess that's it. I should also note that this isn't a strong lineup. 2-3 of those choices are simply there because they were the better ,of a bunch of weak movies.

YOUR Hero 12-23-2005 08:48 PM

Syriana, which I wish to see, would undoubtedly be on that list, from what I've been hearing.

El Capitano Gatisto 12-23-2005 10:18 PM

The Jacket
Hotel Rwanda
Lord of War
Crash
The Woodsman

G-wrath 12-23-2005 11:44 PM

Crash
Hustle and Flow
40 Year Old Virgin
Jarhead
Get Rich or Die Tryin

Pinnacle Charisma 12-24-2005 07:27 AM

No order

Batman Begins
Star Wars Ep.3
40 Year Old Virgen
Sin City

Cant think of any other movie I really liked enough.

Cuzziebro 12-24-2005 07:31 AM

1. Sin City
2. Saw 2
3. Star Wars Ep lll
4. War of the worlds
5. Domino

Fryza 12-25-2005 04:08 PM

In no real order:

-Sin City
-Batman Begins
-Jarhead
-Kungfu Hustle
-Memoires of a Geisha.

Jason Cage 12-28-2005 06:51 PM

1. Revolver.
2. The Weather Man
3. The Devil's Rejects
4. Sin City
5. Batman Begins/Lord of War

i haven't seen Walk the Line and I've been wanting to, so dunno. Maybe it should be in there.

Lara Emily 12-28-2005 11:49 PM

alright new list, it'll change again once I see Munich I'm sure. (note pretty much the top 4 are essentially #1a through #1d)

1. Constant Gardener
2. Crash
3. Brokeback Mountain
4. Syriana
5. A History of Violence.

Honourbale mention: Stay, Elizabethtown, Walk the Line, Serenity, Sin City, The Weatherman, Lord of War, Jarhead, Rent, Broken Flowers,

I forgot about those 3.

YOUR Hero 12-30-2005 09:45 AM

OK, I just watched The Jacket.

It's my #1 movie of 2005.
Great show, even if it's not made in 2005, (however it could have been) I saw it in this year and that qualifies it.

El Capitano Gatisto 12-30-2005 10:15 AM

It was released in 2005, so it counts.

YOUR Hero 12-30-2005 09:30 PM

Really good show. My brother brought it to my attention...Did you make a topic on it once? I think you did. Anyway, it's a movie that I do not remember getting any media attention or mainstream reviews. If it did, I missed them, really good show.

El Capitano Gatisto 12-30-2005 09:48 PM

You know I posted a topic on it you giant bastard.

http://tpww.net/forums/showthread.php?t=36295

You should search up my other topics and watch those films too.

DaveWadding 12-30-2005 10:10 PM

Hero, maybe you should czech out this movie too: http://tpww.net/forums/showthread.php?t=22314

The Gooch 12-30-2005 10:13 PM

Didn't see a lot of movies this year. Top 3 for me would be

Cinderella Man
Crash
Hotel Rwanda (was this in 2004?)

Crash and the Jacket I watched based purely on your recommendation on here.

Crash, I loved. The Jacket was pretty good, but not quite as good IMO.

Hotel Rwanda was released in early 2005 here, so it counts as this year for me.

YOUR Hero 12-31-2005 01:57 PM

Crash?

Hmmm.

The Machinist?

That's the trouble living in a rather small city. All you get is the prescribed mainstream movies.

I'll have to do a DVD search for these two.

El Capitano Gatisto 12-31-2005 02:03 PM

Crash is a pretty big film with a cast littered with semi-big names. Should be able to get that.

The Gooch 12-31-2005 06:44 PM

Crash is bent. I hate Sandra Bullock so I didn't want to see it. It was fantastic. Somewhat PC although not trying to be, but very enjoyable.

Thanks for the info ECG on Hotel Rwanda, I saw the movie this year, but if memory serves it was nominated for an Oscar so I wasn't certain of the release date.

loopydate 01-01-2006 02:33 AM

Here's my top fifteen, keeping in mind that there are still a bunch that I want to see, but haven't (way behind on the Oscar contenders, for example):
  1. Serenity
  2. The 40 Year Old Virgin
  3. King Kong
  4. War of the Worlds
  5. Batman Begins
  6. Crash
  7. Unleashed
  8. Cinderella Man
  9. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  10. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
  11. Mr. & Mrs. Smith
  12. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
  13. Sin City
  14. Wedding Crashers
  15. Corpse Bride
