2006 Rumble Winner?
 

Right folks it's that time of the year again.

We're going to have ourselves two big title matches at Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago. One of the challengers will be decided the 30 man over the top rope battle royal known to all of you as the Royal Rumble.

So the question is, who will it be?

These three out:

Kennedy is injured.
Hogan isn't on the permanent roster.
The Rock doesn't wrestle anytime anymore.

I voted for Kurt Angle:

1) This would allow Cena v HHH at WM

2) Angle would switch to SD and face the SD champ, which would make for a better main event at WM

I think Undertaker will win the Rumble to set up a title match with Batista at WM22.

Think its likely a SD! wrestler will win as I think Edge will use his Money In The Bank title shot at WM22.

Naw, they won't let Edge main event Wrestlemania. He'll probably use it @ Royal Rumble or No Way Out

Kurt's never won a Rumble, and (from the rumour mill), he might not have too many left.

I don't think they'll use Edge's MitB at Mania, I think he'll use it before saying that he wants to go into WM as the champ.

Kurt vs Edge at WM for the title? I've seen worse main events.

In order for them to do that, the WWE would have to be able to take one of the single biggest angles they've pushed upon us and flush it down the toilet, totally ruining the hype they've created by blowing their load to...

Anyway, Kurt could carry Eddie's Lowrider to a 5* match. Only one other person currently in the Raw brand who could make Edge actually look worthy, and that's Michaels. So Angle v Edge would be solid.

Come on KK, you can't honestly tell me you take notice of year old storyline's anymore?

They've hired and fired at least 4 former SpongeBob writers since WM21.

Yeah, Angle/Edge had that GREAT feud in 2002, I think if they both gave it their all, it would be a great match for Mania.

But I voted for Orton, because I'm figuring he'll be facing Batista at Mania, and what better way to earn him the shot?

Eddie doesn't have to win his MITB match.

I'm not a huge RVD fan, but even I have to admit that would be awesome. Cena faces a guy with a larger fanbase than him, has dome something he can't do (win the Rumble), and now is up against a wall as to how he is going to keep the title. Could be great stuff. :y:

I would love to see Angle win the Elimination Chamber, but only if Chris Jericho or Chris Benoit win the Rumble and face him in the main event.

The Rock may not compete regularly anymore, but the Rumble is in Miami. What if The Rock did win, and then faced a Champion of his choice at WrestleMania? The Rock could surely do a few video promos here and there on both Champions, and the WWE can build suspense as to whether he will face Batista or Cena. You can then have an interpromotional tournament to decide who will face the other Champion. Maybe have Triple H win that?

I suppose if you have Kane win the Elimination Chamber, and go through with the Batista vs. Kane match at No Way Out, you could have Batista going into WrestleMania as the WWE's only World Champion. You could then have The Rock defeat Batista in the main event, becomming a 10-time World Champion. Then you can have Edge run down, use his Money in the Bank Title Shot and defeat The Rock to win his first World Championship.

It would use The Rock in a creative and effective way, and he gets another World Title run and Royal Rumble victory out of it. Assuming they use the WWE Title as the primary face for the unified World Championship, you can have The Rock shatter his own record by becomming an 8-time WWE Champion. I think it would be more exciting than Randy Orton winning.

As much as I'd love Kane to win, I don't see it happening.

My pick for 2006 Royal Rumble Winner all things considered is...John Cena. I can see the WWE swerve us and have Cena lose the belt in the Elimination Chamber, and then have Triple H get his hands on it (maybe even as soon as a "Chamber screwjob" at NYR with Triple H entering with Vince McMahon's blessing). Cena wins the Rumble from a meaty position (let's say #24) and gets the guaranteed title shot at WrestleMania.

Triple H then starts to play mind games with Cena, trying to get him to go for Batista's title, as Batista defeated Triple H at the previous Mania, so he is higher, trying to get the fans to look at Cena as a coward, and just trying to pull his strings in general. Cena defeats Triple H at WrestleMania.

Or they could have Chris Jericho come back and be World Champion forever. Either way is good.

Cena retaining the belt at WM?
If he pulls a serious fucking heel turn, yes.
If not, he's jobbing like a sumofabitch.

Cena will hold the belt for atleast 6 more months. I really had thought it would be Orton, but with taker winning HIAC..:?: I dunno now, maybe HHH for the inevitable Cena/HHH fued
