The wonderful world of Internet Explorer errors

Yeah so, basically, I'm running IE 6 Service Pack 1 on Windows 98 SE. IE crashes the instant it opens with some sort of error in kernel32.dll (can't find an error code, it just gives one of those "Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to terminate" messages.

Ran a virus scan, Scan Disc, an adware check, rebooted numerous times and reinstalled it... solved nothing. Any ideas what's doing it?

From my experience with IE errors, the only way to get rid of them is to reformat :-\

Unless you have Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise installed, in which case uninstall it

Good old "Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to terminate" errors on 98se
I remember those, used to happen all the time. I asked a mate about it once and he said "98 is just prone to crashing" so I never looked into it.

So my solution is to grab a copy of XP. :D

Helpful. :p

Guess I'll just have to make Mozilla Firebird a full time IE replacement...
