TLC Match Monday
 

After watching all the past TLC's and seeing the spotfests they can be, How do you guys feel Flair will do Monday vs Edge?

Do you think he can put on a good "TLC" Match ?

Ric Flair is a wrestling god for a reason. If anybody can do a match this different from their norm, it will be Ric Flair.

They should have made it a Tables, Ladders, and Coats match, so he could whip out his jacket...Only to have it heel turn on him.

Ric Flair will die from a rough bump on Monday.

I think it will be shit. Other than chairshots Flair wont' take any bumps.

Edge really needs to be carried to get a decent match out of him.

Flair MIGHT be able to carry him, but in a TLC match? I'm unsure.

Yeah, I would have saved the match for later down the line. Edge vs. Flair would have been good enough. TLC seems to be leaps and bounds in the wrong direction.

I can actually see Ric Flair winning this thing. Flair comes out, demands the Intercontinental Championship be hooked up there as well, or have Edge state that TLC Matches are traditionally for two belts, and force Flair to put the IC Title on the line. I was expecting Vince McMahon to say that Flair interrupted the "Live Sex Celebration" on RAW, so Cena still gets his title shot, but now I can see McMahon putting a halt on the rematch. Cena runs out, F-Us Edge, Flair climbs and walks out Double-Champion for a night. He eventually forfeits the Intercontinental Championship, though. At the Royal Rumble, Triple H defeats Flair for the WWE Championship, and Cena wins the Rumble.

I hope they don't go this way, but I can see them doing it.

I would have much rather seen TLC done with Christian or Matt Hardy, even Shelton Benjamin.......i'm sure the match will be entertaining, but the state of Flairs body is going to hamper it a lot.

Flair = God.

God > Edge.

Therefore...

Flair > Edge.

All I know is that for the first time in quite a long time, I want to watch RAW.

Fans know what a TLC match is, they know what to expect from a TLC match. This match won't meet their expectations.

Yeh, but when you throw in the 'TLC' variable, I'm sure the outcome of those equations in terms of performance in that particular match will be different. Flair isn't cut out for these matches. These types of matches were designed for the spot-monkey, which Flair almost definately is not.

Either Flair and Edge will attempt to recreate a typical TLC match and put on a stinker as a result, or they'll recognise the problem and put on a normal match with a few low-risks spots here and there, with Edge mostly on the receiving end.

TLC has historically lacked in terms of story-telling. Yes TLC matches are fun and exciting here and there, but why not take the greatest match story-teller in history (Flair) and pair him with a guy who can do the fun and exciting moves/falls fans are expecting to see (Edge).

One of the better Ladder Matches was Undertaker (not traditinally cut out for Ladder Match situation) vs. Hardy (see: Previous Comment About Edge). Why not let them try, we all know Flair can bump fairly well and might go through a table or a half way up the ladder bump-fall. Let Edge go the jumping off the ladder spears or whatever and call it a night. I say at the least reserve judgement until after Monday.

I don't think Flair's body can withstand the punishment typically given out in a TLC.

Although UT and Hardy was a very good match, with Hardy selling the entire time it wouldn't look good to put the new world champion in the same position. I'm sure Vince wouldn't want his new top guy to look weak... especially if he's going to retain any credibility and sustain a push until Wrestlemania.

I'm sorry, I just don't see this match being good. Flair may still be able to go, but this match requires at least one big bump from each of them, and I don't see what Flair could do besides a small Table spot. They may as well have just made it a ladder match, it wouldn't be as bad in my mind if it were.

Also, is this the first WWE singles TLC match?

When i posted cena was the champ seconds after he lost it, some pepole got mad at me for not puttin a spolier alert ins, hell a moderator even changed the name of the post to "I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT SPOLIERS IN TITLES HHJKFHDJKJS".....yet it was plastered all over wwe.com. i mean i dont care, were an internet based wrestling forum we know when cena shits for the most part, but irony is a funny thing. This board is chock full of it.

The match won't be any good. I think for a TLC match you need more than two people. Edge is always injured and isn't going to be the same in this match as he was in the ones with E and C. Flair's 79. It's just not going to be very good. I mean they'll take a lot of ladder shots, but probably will only have one high spot.

I'd much rather have Shelton, Helms, Venis, London, Super Crazy, Pyshosis, or hell Carlito in a ladder match. Venis vs Shelton would be a great ladder match.

I'm fairly sure it will suck but maybe if Edge does every bump and then does a one man Conchairto or something and wins.I dunno

They really shouldn't do this. TLC is a tag team match. A tag team match with at least 3 teams.
A single TLC match just won't work. TLC matches are about non-stop action, high spots and excitement. This will be so slow-paced and have one or no spots. The crowd are just going to shit all over it.

The TLC match was originally created because each of the three teams used the specific weapons. Tables for the Dudleys, Ladders for the Hardys and Chairs for Edge and Christian. They should have just ended it when they got rid of them all.

Also, why should they use the ladder in this match? Edge used a chair last week, make it a chair on a pole match. Or have Flair use a table this week and Edge use a ladder the next. At least then it would make sense storyline-wise.

Then again, the WWE is known for throwing gimmick matches into feuds for no reason whatsoever.

This might be interesting, but I have my doubts. I don't think that Flair can pull this match off.
