Favorite Royal Rumble

Its coming up and this question was bound to surface....What is your Favorite Royal Rumble ever?

Loose Cannon 01-15-2006 12:18 AM

92. always 92

weather vane 01-15-2006 12:22 AM

I loved all the early ones. 1990 was my favorite though.

Corndad 01-15-2006 12:25 AM

I can see 92 getting alot of votes, but after just watching it the other day... I'd say 2001...

So many things made it for me...

Kane looking so dominant

Suprise entrants like Honky Tonk Man and Drew Carey

Thinking a number of guys could have won it

Taker/Kane working together

Austin making the big comeback after HHH took him out to win it...

Great Match.

As I said I also see 1992 getting alot of votes...I also see Beniot's win a few years ago will get a few votes as well....

James Steele 01-15-2006 12:34 AM

2002

I was sucked in. I was rooting for Mr. Perfect (I have been a Curt Henning mark since I started watching way back when). In the back of my head I knew HHH was going to win, but I got lost in the drama of it.

Gone Mad 01-15-2006 12:36 AM

2006, because I'm going to this year. AHAHA! See you on the floor, guys! HAHA!

Skippord 01-15-2006 01:43 AM

2001 because of Kane knocking the Honky Tonk Man out

Favre4Ever 01-15-2006 02:15 AM

was 2001 Drew Carey, or was that 2000?

The reason i loved 2002 was because Rock, Austin, and HHH were all in the rumble. Also high points were Mr. Perfect and Maven eliminating the Undertaker

That's a picture of my Preview Post BTW. It looked better like that because when I posted it, it was all squashed up and it looked like crap.

The One 01-15-2006 06:08 AM

Anyone who knows me knows exactly what Rumble is my favorite. No questions asked. Wooooooooooooo!

Russenmafia 01-15-2006 08:57 AM

2001 was my favourite Rumble. Honky Tonk Man getting knocked out by Kane was

Y3J 01-15-2006 09:36 AM

2001 had everything:

Kane cleaning house
Mini hardcore match
Rock/Stone Cold stand off
Surprise entrants

Volare 01-15-2006 10:12 AM

meh Drew Carey in the ring when Kane came out lmfao...(shake hands?? Give Money?? last option...RUN LIKE HELL:rofl:

Rock wasnt in the Royal Rumble Match.

he faced Jericho for the Title.

Back to subject..2004 was mine.

Innovator 01-15-2006 11:04 AM

I was there for 2003....so I'm going with 92

DaveWadding 01-15-2006 11:07 AM

1992 better known as The Ric Flair Show.

Evil Vito 01-15-2006 11:08 AM

Admittedly, I haven't seen every Rumble...I have seen most though, and of the ones I've seen, I'd probably have to put '92 first with '04 as a close second

The worst I've seen was easily '99...granted it was the first one I'd seen and at the time I was like "This is awesome" but looking back its easy to tell how rigged the entry order was (jobbers entering first, then midcards, then the upper-midcard guys)

Innovator 01-15-2006 11:13 AM

2003 was solid though.

-Jericho takes out HBK
-Christian tries to befriend Edge, gets speared
-Dreamer has 45 seconds of hardcoreness before getting taken out
-Matt and Jeff face off
-Team Angle working together
-Brock cleaning house
-HBK coming back leading to Test eliminating Jericho
-The return of the Undertaker
-Maven dropkicking Taker, thinking he got him twice, turns around and gets a chokeslam
-4 hosses are in the final four, Kane/Taker/Brock/Batista
-Undertaker tricks Kane, eliminates him

Scarface 01-15-2006 11:15 AM

The 1997 Royal Rumble was the first one I watched, and I love it because I thought Stone Cold was the coolest thing ever at the time.

Savio 01-15-2006 11:15 AM

change mine to 04

LivingDead 01-15-2006 11:54 AM

2001

Corndad 01-16-2006 01:22 AM

Can we sticky this please?

Pegasus Crawford 01-16-2006 04:10 AM

I remember watching the 1992 RR and was thinking "oh boy. Hogan's gonna win it." When Sid Justice eliminated Hogan and then Flair eliminated Sid to win, it was one of the few times my eyes were wide open and jaw just dropping.

It was one of those things you just couldn't expect to happen back in those days.

And I see the Big Show is the only superstar who made it to the "final two" more than once and not winning. :D

weather vane 01-16-2006 05:00 AM

2002 was amazing just because of Hennig. EVERYONE wanted him to pull it out.

ddpBANG 01-16-2006 09:10 AM

I voted '92. I just liked it more knowing something more was on the line.

wwe2222 01-16-2006 10:07 AM

92 for me as well...watching that there was so much suspense of who was gonna be the new champ...and bobby heenans commentary throughout was just great.

Corndad 01-19-2006 02:03 AM

bumpy bump bump

The Mackem 01-19-2006 07:23 AM

Voted 1989, really like that one. Hogan gets eliminated by the Twin Towers and is irrate. The colour commentary by Ventura is priceless.

JH 01-19-2006 09:29 AM

1995
HBK wins it all

crock69 01-19-2006 09:38 AM

1990, This was the first Pay Per View I ever attended live.

mrslackalack 01-19-2006 09:45 PM

92 was by far the best (incredible commentary, great roster, Vacant title on the line). I think 90 comes in second and 01 in third

Corndad 01-22-2006 01:12 AM

After downloading it, the 1998 Rumble wasnt that bad, although obvious Stone Cold would win. Would put up there just for all 3 of Foley's Faces having a number.

D Mac 01-22-2006 01:40 AM

ALL OF THEM. The Rumble is the greatest match in the fucking world.

D Mac 01-22-2006 01:51 AM

Sid Justice was ROBBED I tells ya, ROBBED.

Zen v.W.o. 01-22-2006 08:28 PM

92 mostly for Heenan making it seem real important. However, Piper should have won that rumble, he was the man in there.

Anything else that had Bret, Owen, Bulldog and Austin all involved were good to me.

Corndad 01-25-2006 10:26 AM

Its looking like a race between 1992 and 2001..... wanted to bump this one more time before the Rumble.
