We all love Kurt Angle but...
I think it's time he gets new entrance music and maybe quit talking about the fucking Olympics. This gimmack has been going on since he debuted. I find it boring. Don't get me wrong, I don't find Kurt boring, but his gimmick of an Olympic Hero is just blah now.

I think he has evolved his character quite well over the years. When he first debuted he was more of a legit athlete. Now he's a legit athletic bad ass.
I couldn't really see Angle in any other base gimmick than the Olympic hero. He does change once in a while, but he always has that base of the legit athlete. |

Kurt has grown into the character, it fits him good now, as long as he's not throwing it around.

I say he uses his remixed version of "Medal", called "I Don't Suck" (NOT the Originals song, but the rock version of "Medal"). It fits him better I think.

I for one hope they don't change his gimich, because it would make no sense. That sounds more like something the WCW would do, like Cowboy Kurt Angle that hates rap music, wait, I forgot, they did that with Curt Henning.

I love Angle's gimmick. He only uses the "I'm an Olympic Hero" and "broken freakin neck" when he has to put the other guy down and to make him look badder.
His entrance is fine, it's got that "i'm a clean-cut, American hero" type if vibe to it, which makes us love him even more. |
There is nothing wrong with his current theme. He should never change it.

Keep in mind, it's really not a Gimmick, this isn't Ken Patera who won medals in the Pan Am Games and competed in the olympics not winning medals.

Kurt's music is synonymous with him, such that it is like Hogan's or Michaels' music. You don't mess with success. It's perfect for the man, and probably always will be.

I was going to come in with the "don't change it mentality", but I think using "I Don't Suck" would really work with his new badass character. Have him use his "Medal" theme on PPV only or something (or vice versa).
Plus, it would catch people off guard, which would reduce the "You Suck" chants, which will focus people solely on cheering Angle 100%. I really think it would help get him over as a stronger babyface. |
They should fix it up some more before using that other theme. Jim Johnston has some wacky drumming in that rock version of Angle's theme.

It would be hard for him to not mention the Olympics, I mean thats asuch a huge part of his gimmick. |

I love Angle, I love his entrance & wouldn't change it, but there is one thing that kinda bugs me about him. I would stop relying on the Ankle Lock so much. He could come up with a new manuever/submission, or start using the Angle Slam more. It just seems to me that the ANKLE LOCK!!!111!!! as a one-shot finisher's become kinda stale. It's like, a lot of his matches have become a waiting game of "Oh boy, when's he gonna grab that ankle & end this :-\ ."

Angle is fine. I don't really see why he needs to change the whole Olympics basis. You wouldn't say Hulk Hogan needs to change his "Real American" type character, nor would you say Flair shouldn't be the Nature Boy anymore. You wouldn't associate Bret Hart with anything other than "The Hitman."
Like most people have said, this image has become a part of Angle's identity. You change that and things tend to fall apart, similar to how many fans didn't react well to Undertaker as a biker badass. Sure, that gimmick wasn't overly terrible, but it just wasn't the same. |
Kurt Angle is one of the guys who keeps wrestling exciting. Your watching RAW, having to sit through a shitty match with Rob Conway, and then BAM! Kurt Angle gets on the screen, and you just know your about to see a good match. I hope Kurt continues to stick with his Olympian gimmick, because it adds a lot of legitimacy to his character. Even the people who don't watch wrestling can tell what an amazing perfermor he is.
I just feel bad that he finally caught a break by getting on the main show, carried John Cena for three months(in fact, so well that people started cheering him on despite being a heel), and now he's back on Smackdown. |

I think the problem with the theme I have is that the "You Suck" chants will NEVER end, and that feels as old as "puppies!!!" I also dislike his ring attire but now I'm just nit picking.
