OVW: Possibly the next ECW?

Well for the fans of the internet, people want to see many things involving the career of Paul Heyman...well, actually 2 things. One is to become the head writer of Smackdown, or leave the WWE and become in charge of TNA. However, it appears that Paul Heyman may have already made a choice on what his future in wrestling is...

Remember that he was showing signs of wanting to leave the WWE in the summer time, wanting to go off to start a new promotion or work on other projects he had been wanting to do (including a play). Yet recently, Paul Heyman signed a contract with the WWE to continue to book OVW, and do some ECW events in the future. Well since his time in OVW, it has been said that Paul HEyman have been giving a "ECW" feel to the product, and is somewhat happy working for the company.

Also to note, WWE doesn't actually "own" OVW, Danny Davis does. It's a situation somewhat close to the old ECW in which Todd Gordon was the owner and Paul booked. So that means that in the future, Paul Heyman might have a chance to actually purchase the company from him, thus making it his own promotion.

Now to anyone willing to argue me on this, just note that this is just my theory (and a sweet dream for myself as a pro-wrestling fan). IT might not happen, but the cards are starting to line up nicely in my opinion. Paul is already in control of the shows for the most part, OVW is gaining a ECW feel to it, and there is definately room in the future for OVW to expand.

What do you guys think?

No, that is dumb. I don't have to read to post to know it is dumb. There will never be another ECW, it has come and gone. Accept it. There is no point in trying to be ECW all over again. It is gone, just move on. All OVW can be is OVW, it can't be ECW.

It won't be the next ECW. If Heyman did buy it, it would become the first OVW. It would probably be renamed, but I'd love to see Heyman buy it while keeping a working relationship with the WWE.

With WWE's backing he may even be able to get some national TV time while some WWE guys make guest appearences of sorts. I've heard that Heyman has done a really great job at booking so far and I'm not surprised. Heyman is making the WWE stars of tomorrow AND making compelling storylines and angles.

Heyman buying would be a bad move. We all know how ECW went down the crapper due to poor business decisions he made. Keep him booking and keep him away from the business side.

I wouldn't trust Paul Heyman with a few bucks to buy me a box of donuts.

Yeah, basically. He has no business sense whatsoever.

The shows are some of the best in the country, I'll attest to that. And it inspires the same loyalty that ECW did; but the likely hood of it being the next ECW is very slim. It's a nice dream though.

How exactly does OVW have a ECW feel to it?

Although this has nothing to do with this thread anyone catch the top rope C-4 that Burchil gave to Doane?

He'd take the couple bucks, make a great storyline, put a few great wrestlers together, then make a poor descision on donuts with the profits he made from the match.

Just ignore it, or play along. He/she/it will go away after a while.
