Awesome Face Turns

When DDP was thought to have joined the NWO, but then gave the Diamond Cutter to Hall and Nash. Shit like that. Heels turning Face.

Lock Jaw 01-22-2006 03:06 AM

The phony Ric Flair and Batista turns when Evolution was still around were awesome...... if not incredibly frustrating.

The Ric Flair turns were better then his current face turn.

Mr. Nerfect 01-22-2006 04:23 AM

Batista turning on Evolution was huge. I also like Kurt Angle's current face turn, if only because I like cheering Angle.

TapOut 01-22-2006 04:47 AM

DDP's was by far the biggest face turn. I mean, it catapulted him from Hardcore Holly status to damn-near Austin-like status.

Shame WCW were stupid and never put the belt on him while he was hot. They waited like two or three years later when the company was gayer than shit to crown him champ.

As for WWE, I think when Jerry Lawler asked Goldust if he was "a queer" and Goldust turned face was pretty cool.

Nikita Koloff's babyface turn when Magnum TA had his bad car wreck and Nikita teamed up with Dusty

Mr. Perfect's

Easily.

(When he turned on Heenan and Flair)

The double-turn at Mania 14 was a pretty good one, though not all that drastic since Austin acted heelish anyway as a face.

Loose Cannon 01-22-2006 08:42 AM

Savage after Mania 7

Taker after Jake/Savage match and then on the Parlor.

Virgil at Royal Rumble 91 was done real well

Owen after Survivor Series 97 when he came through the crowd and attacked HBK. What PPV was that cause I need to get it?

Luger when he came out and slammed Yoko.

Bret at Mania 4, when he smashed Bad New's trophey

Andre at Mania 6 when he attacked Heenan and Haku

Demolition at Survivor Series 88 when they attacked Fuji

Beefcake at Mania 4 when he said fuck you to the Dream Team, then came out and cut Adrian's hair.

Jake when HTM attacked him

Savage when HTM and the Hart's attacked him.

PorkSoda 01-22-2006 09:21 AM

Austin at WM 13.

Russenmafia 01-22-2006 12:40 PM

The Rock after Summerslam 1998.

"Aren't you...well...queer?"

"NO!"

In Your House Degeneration X.

John la Rock 01-22-2006 04:49 PM

Batista powerbombing HHH through the table was off the charts

HBK coming back to the WWE at Summerslam 02

The Rock after Backlash 98. Although he was getting major face pops at the time, that turned him full face.

The torn quad that HHH suffered pretty much turned him face after all that time out. The pop he got his first night back was unreal.

I forget what turned HHH's DX face in 98 but they were getting some pops but weren't totally face for a bit.

Cena when he got beat down by Heyman's Survivor Series team turned semi-face. People probably liked that Cena the most.

Hogan in 02. Once again, got massive pops being a heel. The night after WM 18 in Montreal, he got one of the longest standing ovations I have ever seen. Also sent the Rock to begin his heel turn later that year.

Lock Jaw 01-22-2006 06:03 PM

Eddie Guerrero's face turn after he turned heel and attacked Tajiri... but then got cheered anyways so they just forgot it and had him face again.

After the nWo had been running wild on WCW for awhile, the Stinger came back to make an announcement. Wearing the black and white colors, the nWo figured he was joining them. He told them "The only thing that's for sure, is that nothing's for sure." Then began his silent streak, sitting in the rafters, playing with crows, etc.

At Uncensored, he made his decision, repelling from the rafters and beating the hell out of every nWo member with a baseball bat. That was awesome, and it was the beginning of the Hogan/Sting angle that would run all year.

hb2k 01-22-2006 08:05 PM

That Uncensored angle was so exciting...the pop when he pointed the bat at Hogan was mind-blowing...

DX was feuding with Owen Hart, and interfering in his matches and costing him wins. Well Owen had enough and joined the Nation to use as backup against DX and thus DX automatically turned face.

That wrestlemania was in Toronto and that match was unbelieveable.

He Just said the Raw after was in Monteal

Vastardikai 01-23-2006 10:00 AM

Jake: "Whose side are you on?"

Taker: "Not Yours!"

That was HUGE!

that has always been my favorite one. I remember I had taped that episode of Prime Time Wrestling and watched it the next day over and over when he made that turn.

Actually, DX gradually turned face with skits like the invasion of WCW or those videos where they'd go up to girls on the street and get them to take their shirts off.

I like when the Dudleys were thought to have joined Right To Censor.

"If putting people through tables is wrong...... then I don't want to be right."

YES! I so marked the fuck out for that.

Great pop from the crowd too.

A rare event, a chance to sit back and look at something WCW did totally right. One of the best angles to ever come from WCW...in many ways far more powerful and emotional then the nWo invasion in the first place.
