Bad Endings to Games

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but some of us were discussing the ending to Knights of the Old Republic 2 and it made me think of games i was very disappointed in how they ended...SPOILER ENDINGS BEWARE.(in case someone doesnt want to know the ending to a particular game)

one that comes to mind is

Jurassic Park for SNES: It took me forever to beat that game and all it showed me was the JP logo. I actaully wrote to the company to complain about this.

KOTOR 2: left the story too open, kind of a lazy ending.

I think the celebrations on most sports games when you win the championship are pretty lackluster.

I mean I can speak for Madden. They have the same boring celebration for each victory. Then in the playoffs, where each game is a big deal, its the same. The Super Bowl celebration is pretty lackluster and boring. There are no celebrations for the Wild Card, Divisional, or Championship games.

Since there is no end to the game in Madden, thats about as close as you will get.

My PS2 is truly funked so I haven't won the Superbowl yet. So is there still no confetti, mass people etc?

Gonzo 01-27-2006 02:20 PM

I don't even remember what it is exactly but its really lackluster, thus the reason I have forgotten it.

Halo 2

good call on the sports games...every NBA game I play, usually just ends like a normal game or something...

I want to see confetti and the players jumping up and down and carrying the trophy....thats not too much to ask!

Gonzo 01-27-2006 03:04 PM

Yeah it really can't be that much extra programming to throw something in there.

Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy.

Nowhere Man 01-27-2006 03:37 PM

MGS2. A cut-scene that seemed to take an hour and a half to get through, then an unsatisfying battle with a Doc-Ock wannabe. Followed by one last ridiculous "twist" after the credits. OMG, America's secretly run by ghosts!!!

CharismaInjection 01-27-2006 03:42 PM

Agreed with MGS2, thought MGS1 & MGS3 had great endings.

Final Fantasy VII, didn't really give you any idea what happened next...

Disturbed316 01-27-2006 03:59 PM

I haven't played it, but Path of Neo is said to have the worst ending in gaming history.

It wasn't that bad at all...They just changed the end of the movie to make it different.

Funky Fly 01-27-2006 05:09 PM

Bubsy on the SNES. The fucking game turns out to be a movie. What the gay?

That's what Advent Children is for ;)

Also yeah, Path of Neo is pretty ridiculous. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was a really challenging or cool final battle or something, but it's pretty lame, on top of being ridiculous. And the credit music :wtf: I guess it's ironic-funny but still :-\

I was disappointed in the end of Resident Evil 4. Excellent game, but the final boss battle and the closing cutscene were way below the quality of the rest of the game/scenes. I actually preferred the Saddler battle as Ada in the Separate Ways missions to Leon's.

Cool King 01-27-2006 06:27 PM

Mario 64.

It was a really good game and it took me a while to complete it. And when I did, all I get was some crappy cake and Mario saying thanks for playing.:wtf:

loopydate 01-27-2006 06:41 PM

Thank you so much for to playing my game!

Dorkchop 01-29-2006 01:08 AM

Super Mario Bros 2 - It was all a dream? Are you kidding me? GAW!

Lock Jaw 01-29-2006 01:38 AM

FFIX. Build up Kuja as the big evil guy of the game then you get to the end.... BAM! A guy comes out of nowhere and is like "Humans are stupid. I think I'll kill them all" and Zidane is all like "We won't let you!"

Other then that though it's one of my favourite games.

Dorkchop 01-29-2006 06:45 PM

Rampage - I played for hours upon hours upon hours in a row finishing it, and all I got was "Congratulations".

In Madden 06 I think I remember some fireworks and the coach getting drenched when you win the Superbowl. It's ok, could be better.
