Current Favorite TV shows?

There are several I'm interested in;

Smallville

It's in its 5th or 6th season and it's interesting to see the similarities and the differences between Smallville and the Superman movies. It sucks though, that Jonathan Kent died in last week's episode...:nono: . Although that does follow the Superman plot. I haven't seen too many threads on this, so, I'm just wonderin' if anyone else watches.....

Nip/Tuck

This show is by far the best on FX. It gets deeper every episode and twists happen often. The "carver" angle from this past season was good, although I didn't see Quintin and Kit being brother & sister coming......

Supernatural

It's funny, there used to be NO good shows on WB. Nowadays, they have Smallville, Supernatural, etc that are fastly becoming favs of mine. Supernatural follows two brothers: Sam & Dean who are chasing their father[who also investigates supernatural cases] in order to get closer to the truth about their mother. Their mother died in their home when they were younger and their father is off chasing the demon responsible. This show is better than most WBish shows like 7th Heaven:n: or One Tree Hill :n: and actually gets better as it goes along[instead of most WB shows, that get worse].

The Shield

It's funny, I never really cared about another show about a dirty cop. That is, until they advertised season 5. Forrest Whitaker stands out and makes The Shield a must-watch show. Cop-drama that leaves you wondering what will happen next.

Rescue Me

Dennis Leary is a good actor. He definetely shines in this series. It's another FX show that leaves you wanting more.

Shows I hate; "Over There"[could they make MORE off of war-time happenings? ], 7th Heaven[too family oriented], One Tree Hill[gay], "It's always sunny in Philadelphia[a flop of a show on FX], and any "reality" themed tv shows["American Idol, "Dancing with the Stars", "Survivor", "The Apprentice, etc].

Which TV shows do you currently watch?

Blue Demon 01-28-2006 06:43 PM

my current faves are Lost, 24 and Family Guy

Blitz 01-28-2006 06:58 PM

Lost
Veronica Mars
Supernatural (Loved the recent "Scarecrow" episode)
Daily Show
The Colbert Report
The Office
Family Guy
Simpsons

Smallville's kinda lost me during the last couple of seasons, but the current one seems to be taking a turn for the better. "Reckoning" was a great episode.

weather vane 01-28-2006 07:02 PM

The O.C
My Name Is Earl
The Office

Blitz 01-28-2006 07:07 PM

I forgot The OC. Love that show.

loopydate 01-28-2006 07:13 PM

A ton.

Comedy
Arrested Development
Desperate Housewives (so I like Felicity Huffman. So what?)
How I Met Your Mother
My Name Is Earl
Scrubs
The Simpsons

Drama
Lost
NCIS
Prison Break
24

Reality
The Amazing Race (although not the "Family Edition" they just did)
Survivor

Plus, three nights of wrestling a week.

It's a wonder I ever get any work done.

Oh, right, I don't.

But, probably my two absolute favorites are Scrubs and 24.

Skippord 01-28-2006 07:27 PM

Scrubs pwns all

The Heat 01-28-2006 07:34 PM

I also forgot, Comedy Central advertised that the 3rd season of Chappelle's show is coming, OHHHKAY.....

RBM 01-28-2006 08:09 PM

Lost- best show on TV.
Prison Break
Veronica Mars (probably just going to pick up the seasons on DVD and watch them in one shot. I'm too lazy to bother with Tivo and it's on the same time as Lost)
Nip/Tuck
Rescue Me
Family Guy
American Dad
Southpark
Drawn Together

It's just whatever sketches they had done before he quit, wrapped into 4 episodes, but hey, that's still better than nothing and funnier than most of the shit on TV today.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-28-2006 08:19 PM

House.

Oh, and MI:5 (Spooks) but I only watch that via DVD since I can never find when A&E airs it, plus they edit it for time. :nono: Season 3 comes out on Tuesday

I loved Over There (well, the theme song anyway) and I liked "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" just fine. Pretty sure both are canceled now though, so you don't have to worry about them.

Boondock Saint 01-29-2006 04:39 AM

It's Always Sunny in Phili was renewed for a second season. "Starved" was cancelled.

toxic rooster 01-29-2006 06:33 AM

Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
The Shield
West Wing
Lost
Supernatural - Only seen the first episode (that aired last week) but I liked it so i'll continue to watch it.

Been trying to get into Invasion but it doesn't seem to do anything for me, except for the girl who plays the teenage daughter of the sheriff, who has a weird-looking hotness going on.

The Mask 01-29-2006 09:18 AM

Lost and South Park are the only things I bother with really, and then I just download them the day after they're on in america so it's all good.

toxic rooster 01-29-2006 10:10 AM

My brother's trying to get me into the Shield.

I got him into arrested development :o

Blue Demon 01-29-2006 11:04 AM

I think regular TV sucks. Seriously, nothing ever good is on.

My favorites are Simpsons, Family Guy........uh...Everybody Hates Chris isn't bad. Of course, Raw and Smackdown. I never did watch Nip Tuck or Smallville or any of that. And if I did, I''d probably turn it off 5 seconds into and say that it sucks. Why? I don't know. Why? I DON'T KNOW!

You can't seriously watch this much TV, can you? Is it possible?

I tend to go like this:

Mondays are Prison Break, Tuesdays are House, Wednesdays are Veronica Mars, Thursdays are Smallville... Friday and Saturdays are shit, and Sundays are football or Fox or nothing...

Other that, I'll just watch whatever shit's on if I'm home, not online or playing madden.

The Heat 02-03-2006 01:37 AM

Of course, I was assuming everyone else watched WWE as well; TNA is also good to watch on Saturday nights, as there's nothing else on at that time....

Joey Slugs 02-03-2006 04:52 AM

24, House, The Sopranos

Pinnacle Charisma 02-03-2006 07:23 AM
