Better chance of becoming a WWE/World champ: Carlito or Masters?

The topic explains itself. Who do you think has a better chance of becoming a champ?

Funky Fly 02-09-2006 05:32 PM

Masters will be champ by 2008, mark my words. They're pushing this youngest champ ever thing. So if Orton screws up and gets fired like Lesnar did, then look for Masters to get pushed to the moon.

Carlito will probably get Edged and have a brief heel champ run.

Anybody Thrilla 02-09-2006 05:40 PM

This guy that I was watching the Rumble with swears that Masters will be the champ some time in 2006. Thinking about it, it doesn't really seem too far fetched.

Regardless, I think that Masters has come a long way, and he's got great things in his future.

Carlito I wasn't too sure about at first, but he's growing on me, and now it seems they're actually allowing him to break out a little more of his moveset. That should help get him over.

I give Masters the edge over Carlito though, if for nothing else but physical stature.

Y3J 02-09-2006 06:01 PM

Carlito is awesome. Great on the mic and his moveset is becoming a thing of beauty. I see good things for him in the future.

Although I hate to say it, Masters will be champ eventually. He's big which Vince obviously loves and he's been getting a meaningful push as of late. I still think he is very slow and lackluster but that's never been a barrier before. Also, his segments/matches with Carlito make him look better than what he is.

Blitz 02-09-2006 06:03 PM

Masters, unfortunately

Sadistic 02-09-2006 06:04 PM

Neither, fortunately.

Lock Jaw 02-09-2006 06:12 PM

Masters will never be champ.

Carlito, there is a chance years down the road.

Kane Knight 02-09-2006 06:22 PM

A half-retarded ape would become champion within 3 years of entering the WWE. There is no question as to who would receive it first, whether or not Masters has improved or was even remotely deserving.

Oh, I see. You assumed my dyslexia was acting up, and I meant "retarded half-ape."

Xero 02-09-2006 06:34 PM

Yup. :shifty:

There is If WWE didn't believe in Masters, they would ahve buried him by now. I dont watch every match every week, but I dont recall him getting pinned too often. That would lead me to believe he will get a run with the title in 06.

The wildcard is what Hunter wants to do this year. If he wants to be the only heel champ, then obviosuly Masters will ahve to wait. However, I think the title picture will still revolve around Cena next year, and Masters will beat him at some point.

Carlito will also be champion, but I dont think ti will happen this year. I think he's looking at 07.

crock69 02-09-2006 07:27 PM

If Masters turns face, I can see him as a champion, but not before Carlito gets at least a 2 month run with it.

mrslackalack 02-09-2006 10:23 PM

I see Carlito as champ first, I mean he won the U.S. Title in his first televised match with WWE!

The mid-card belts are totally worthless and no longer stepping stones to the main event.

Just look at the IC title.

Stickman 02-10-2006 01:30 AM

I think only Masters will ever win it. Carlito is too small in height and build, he sounds stupid when he talks, and he's not very good in the ring. I'm not saying Masters is any better, I just think he looks more like a champ and has a greater upside.

Me 02-10-2006 01:34 AM

Masters, he's taller. (Truth hurts)

All right then, out of the new crop of talent in the WWE currently, who do you think has a better chance than those two?

What do you define as "new talent?"

Anybody Thrilla 02-10-2006 12:26 PM

Uhhh....making debuts since 2003.

Xero 02-10-2006 01:18 PM

In WWE or professionally?

Anybody Thrilla 02-10-2006 01:24 PM

WWE.

alvarado52 02-10-2006 02:27 PM

Carlito should, Masters will because Vince has a hard-on for the bigger built guys

Nark Order 02-10-2006 02:45 PM

I say we genetically construct a Carlito/Masters hybrid

manmadeofsteel 02-10-2006 03:05 PM

Carlito deserves to be the wwe champ.

Mr. Nerfect 02-10-2006 04:25 PM

I think both have a fair shot at winning the big one, but I'm going to say Carlito first.

Colon is more polished in the ring, he can bust out some nice stuff (that double springboard corkscrew somersault senton was move of the week, in my opinion). Carlito has got solid crowd recognition, and could effectively get good face or heel heat.

Masters is good, but he's not quite there yet. The fans are still fairly apathetic to the guy, but given time he will hold the belt. Right now I think he should be working the mid-card, though. In a few years, Masters could very well be a major attraction for the WWE. Carlito could honestly be there now.

alvarado52 02-10-2006 06:10 PM

i think they are doing a good thing with the whole Masters/Carlito deal though, thats one of the few directions the WWE is doing right. But, that will probably end soon, if not already ended.

No, theyll do it until everyone has a hardon for it, then drop it without warrant.
