Airplane! is still one of the funniest movies of all time

I mean, who could forget such great lines as

"Joey, ever seen a grown man naked?"

or

"Surely you're not serious"
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."

or

"The white zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers only."
"Don't start with your white zone shit again."

 RO-FUCKING-FL:rofl:

Blitz 02-10-2006 01:52 AM

Never seen Airplane. I haven't the slightest idea why.

el fregadero 02-10-2006 02:07 AM

It is defintely worthy of the "ROFL" tag. Any movie with Leslie Nielsen is great.

And that includes Mr. Magoo and 2001: A Space Travesty.

"Joey, have you ever being to a turkish prison?"

"Self service baggage claim"

wwe2222 02-10-2006 11:30 AM

Striker!

guy punches a woman

loopydate 02-10-2006 12:42 PM

"You'd better tell the captain we've got to land as soon as we can. This woman has to be gotten to a hospital."
"A hospital? What is it?"
"It's a big building with patients. But that's not important right now."

"You got a letter from Headquarters this morning."
"What is it?"
"It's a big building where generals meet, but that's not important."

Boondock Saint 02-10-2006 12:48 PM

I concur. Classic.

MVP 02-10-2006 12:48 PM

"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."

Kane Knight 02-10-2006 12:51 PM

I don't think it's one of the funniest, but it was surely a groundbreaking comedy and holds up even today.

But don't call me Shirley.

el fregadero 02-10-2006 03:17 PM

Come on, the 3 Tenors performing In The Navy is classic.

Triple A 02-10-2006 03:32 PM

Yeah love that shit.

road doggy dogg 02-10-2006 05:09 PM

Haven't watched that in forever, kinda got an urge too nowwww

Lock Jaw 02-10-2006 06:04 PM

Hanging Lady: Nervous?
Ted Striker: Yes.
Hanging Lady: First time?
Ted Striker: No, I've been nervous lots of times.

YOUR Hero 02-10-2006 08:14 PM

Yup. Maybe the best comedy to watch whilst stoned.

Lock Jaw 02-10-2006 11:52 PM

I don't know. I don't think I'd be able to appreciate the humour while people are throwing rocks at me.

D Mac 02-11-2006 12:51 AM

And Striker had this "drinking problem."

He could'nt get it into his mouth.

Jesus Christ, Ric Flair's THAT old?

Kane Knight 02-11-2006 01:10 PM

Sorry, but when I was younger, I watched the first Naked Gun, and after that, I couldn't see Flair in the ring without thinking "Lt Frank Drebbin--Police Squad!"

7 second clip of that.

Boondock Saint 02-12-2006 06:30 PM

This is on HBOCM right now.

Kane Knight 02-13-2006 11:24 AM

Anyone else actually have the "Don't call me Shirley" edition?

The extra footage and studff is pretty weak, especially since it pauses to load every time it goes to one of the asides. Like triples the length of the movie because it jumps away every 20 seconds or so, and it takes like 5-10 seconds per load, and then another 5-10 to return to the movie.
