Fav kung-fu movies

What are yours?

Master of the flying guillotine is fantastic.

My all-time fav was big boss, before Ong-bak stole my heart.

Also, if you don't like kung-fu movies, then you are a giant douche, and also a fag. Not trying to be insulting or anything. Isaac Newton proved this theory correct millions of years ago.

Enter the Dragon.

Kris P Lettus 02-15-2006 02:27 AM

Mystery Of Cheesboxing or Drunken Master

Or anything with Gordon Lui..

Fignuts 02-15-2006 02:43 AM

Gordon Liu killed chuck norris on top of a mountain, and threw his corpse to the farthest moon of jupitor.

Still good, though. But not Bruce Lee's best.

Game of Death is better..

Fignuts 02-15-2006 02:58 AM

Any movie where Kareem Abdul Jabar plays a kung-fu master needs to be burned and spread around all of nevada, immediatly.

Kris P Lettus 02-15-2006 03:01 AM

COME ON

That scene is badass..

Shut the fuck up, kid. That movie is greatness. Actually, though, the extended stuff in the documentary (forget the name) is was better. All the fights are like 5 times as long.

Anyway, in no particular order:

Eagle Fist
Bastard Kung Fu Master
Return Of The Dragon
Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior (great action, shitty everything else)
The 5 Deadly Venoms

Honourable mention goes to Riki-Oh and Zatoichi. Technically, Zatoichi is not kung fu, so that's why it didn't make the list.

Drunken Master
Snake in the eagle's shadow
Kung Fu Hustle (A change from the standard Kung Fu films)

Fignuts 02-16-2006 01:07 AM

Five deadly venoms is the shit.

Versus is fairly good too.

Fryza 02-16-2006 01:45 AM

Ong-Bak
Versus
Kung Fu Hustle
Fist of Legend
Unleashed

Not the best, per say, but my favorites.

The Mask 02-16-2006 04:45 AM

ong bak
tom yum goong (tony jaa's new film)

before that, snake in the eagles shadow and drunken master were probably my favourite. i don't find bruce lee stuff all that interesting anymore.

Funky Fly 02-16-2006 05:52 AM

Is this new Jaa film as poorly acted as Ong-Bak?

Also, is the RZA gonna hyperpimp this one too?

The Mask 02-16-2006 09:55 AM

yeah the acting isn't great, but who cares. i read somewhere that jaa had less lines in ong bak that arnie did in the terminator, which is awesome.

this has lead me to the conclusion that badasses that don't talk much rule.

The Mask 02-16-2006 09:56 AM

also no idea about the soundtrack, somehow i managed to get hold of a chinese dvd copy with english subtitles off ebay, because i am the best.

On a similar note, the Ghostdag soundtrack is awesome, but I really, really want the actual movie score.. I know they sell it on turntablelab.com but I alway forget to order it..

Requiem 02-16-2006 09:21 PM

Ong-Bak

hatorian 02-16-2006 10:42 PM

Drunken Master 1 and 2
Once Upon a Time in China 1,2,3,4 and 5
Ong bak
Kung Fu Hustle.

YOUR Hero 02-17-2006 01:31 AM

I wasn't referring to the soundtrack. I think he did do some stuff for it, but DVD features 2 french guys rapping with Jaa in the video.

I was actually talking about how the commercials were basically RZA telling you to watch the movie.

Kris P Lettus 02-17-2006 12:17 PM

haha

Nice..

JesSoad 02-24-2006 12:07 PM

Yeah Kung Fu Hustle!....and Kung Pow. I almost pissed myslef watching those movies!

Blitz 02-27-2006 03:58 AM

Kung Fu Hustle... the scene where Sing and his sidekick throw knives at the landlady always has me  . Also, the fight with the musicians and the kung fu masters is great.
