There was a basketball player in the 1990s named Larry Johnson who did a series of commercials for Nike (I think), where he dressed in drag as his own "grandmama." Like Mama McNabb, only with Donovan in the dress.

When the Chiefs RB came along with the same name, Chris Berman slapped the old Hornet & Knick's nickname on him because he's unoriginal.
