lol How you people don't like Electronic Dance Music is Beyond me

Listening to a new Ferry Corsten set I downloaded. I get shivers down my spine hearing it.

Funky Fly 02-20-2006 12:23 AM

It's not that I don't like it, I just value a person's ability to play an instrument over a person's ability to run a few loops in a synthesizer.

Also, songs that take 5 minutes to build up to 2 minutes of the good part aren't my thing.

Also, I like real lyrics. Lyrics that sound like an afterthought usually sound terrible. And while I'm on the subject, as much as I love the Children of Bodom, their lyrics are fucking dumb.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-20-2006 12:27 AM

Funky how you can like metal and then say "Also, songs that take 5 minutes to build up to 2 minutes of the good part aren't my thing" is beyond reason.

I enjoy electronic stuff but I just never know what to look for so I just take what I can find easily.

Gertner 02-20-2006 12:28 AM

Some dance songs have great lyrics. I love a great dance song with a soothing female voice

Are you talking about only the guitar solos bing the good part or what? A lot of metal will start with a bang.

el fregadero 02-20-2006 12:47 AM

So a set is what they would play in 'concert' or what have you, right?

Give me some Electronic Dance Music I must have in your opinion that is easy to find via torrents.

Blitz 02-20-2006 12:50 AM

I like some techno. Ferry Corsten, eh? Have to download some.

yeah. hmm, for a live set. Anything from Sensation White shows. ex. Armin Van Buuren.

Any Ferry Corsten set is amazing. The shows are so amazing live i can't even describe it, especially when you and the dj conect.

FakeLaser 02-20-2006 02:15 AM

I like trip hop, kind of.

I like Daft Punk. Kind of. Does that count?

FakeLaser 02-20-2006 02:16 AM

Old school techno reminds me of my childhood though. Like those dances they used to have back in elementry school. Tracks like:

Ace of Base - Beautiful Life
Real McCoy - Another Night

Uhhh, yeah, can't think of any more. You get the idea.

Funky Fly 02-20-2006 02:19 AM

Bad Company, what is the deal with an 85 MB mp3?

Is that like an hour long song or something?

Bad Company 02-20-2006 02:27 AM

yeah, it's a whole set from a show.

Funky Fly 02-20-2006 02:32 AM

DLed some Ferry Corsten, IT IS VERY GOOD. Also got some Armin Van Buuren and Mauro Picotto.

Thanks for making this thread Gertie. Forget how much I enjoyed techno.

Gertner 02-20-2006 05:18 PM

Friggen love Armin and Ferry. Mauro has fallen behind in the times. Not to mention he's a huge asshole.

Yeah Funky, the reason it's 85mb cause it's from a live set. Just saw Andy C not that long ago. Put down a wikkid DNB set

Ogen 02-20-2006 08:13 PM

Tiesto must be gotten by everyone looking into it all

Gertner 02-20-2006 11:57 PM

i'm still bitter at tiesto shitty ass set he threw down in detroit

Danny Electric 02-21-2006 12:54 AM

It's all about the DNB, Andy C is playing round here soon with Shy FX. Good times.

Kane Knight 02-21-2006 01:18 AM

I'd rather listen to a computer modem. It's the same creativity level. :)

That why you need to listen to actual DJ's.. Guys like Shadow and Cut Chemist who make their own music, using mutiple turntables and records, with their hands..

Fuck some trance..

Skippord 02-21-2006 04:12 AM

I dont mind Daft Punk so does that count as me liking Techno

Kris P Lettus 02-21-2006 04:16 AM

Daft Punk is cool, does that count as techno??

(just wanted to be the third person to say it)

Downunder 02-21-2006 07:33 AM

What the fuck are you two doing? You've got this all wrong. What a disgrace.

This is how the shit goes down.

Funky Fly is meant to post this picture:
