Randy Orton defeated Rey Mysterio for his Wrestlemania title shot this past Sunday at No Way Out. However, at the Smackdown tapings tonight, it was announced that Rey Mysterio will compete in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania anyways. Instead of the World Heavyweight Championship match being Randy Orton vs. Kurt Angle, the match will be Randy Orton vs. Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio.

Pretty much, now I'd actually be pretty happy if Orton pinned Rey to win the title, just to further piss on the whole thing. At least then Kurt and Randy could start a proper fuckin fued with some story behind it (the fact that Randy pinned Rey, not Kurt).

Well I think it's a lock that Rey wins it now, unlike it was for Benoit (to me at least). I honestly thought HBK would win at XX because the next event (Backlash) was in Benoit's home town, and those two could have had a great match for the title and HBK would have gotten huge heat....off subject.

I hope they put HHH/Cena in the middle of the card, I hate when they end Mania with both title matches after each other.

See, they should have just used a dusty but indefinite finish, rather than have Orton just cheat if they're gonna just give Rey a shot anyway. I'm glad he gets the shot, but I hope they also make it logical, rather than just say "Oh, I feel sorry for you, I'm gonna give you a shot."

But good overall move by the WWE. :y:

Poor Mysterio. He's getting the Booker T treatment.

No way Mysterio takes the pin at Mania, so the decision will either involve Angle & Orton, or Mysterio will pin Orton to win the World Heavyweight Championship. But that's just my opinion. You watch Orton pin Mysterio at Mania, now.

I actually don't mind the idea of the WWE opening up with the WWE Title Match, and closing with the World Heavyweight Title Match. It makes everything that falls in-between seem so important. Or they could just run through the RAW card, then run through the SmackDown! card in the second half. That might work better.

Previously, the winner of the Royal Rumble has the last match on the card. But i don't think WWE would put Smackdown on last.

At Mania 19 the the main event was Smackdown, so maybe they might.

Prediction: I think the HBK/Vince thing will go in between the title matches.

Yea, they handled that real smoothly.....smooth like sand paper. It really all went wrong when rey won the rumble with no hype, at least with SOME hype it would have been creadbile. Then i just would have been pissed that rey was going to mania, i could have gotten over that. Now its just a clusterfuck, i question which will be better this years mania, or 13?
