Angle Pissed About Mania

RAJAH

Kurt Angle is not pleased with management’s decision to put him in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 22 for his title. He has no problem with Rey Mysterio, but was looking forward to a classic one-on-one match and does not feel that he can achieve that in a three-way match.

Y3J 02-27-2006 07:21 PM

Send Orton over to Raw.

The Naitch 02-27-2006 09:05 PM

well thats what they get for pissing on Rey's Royal Rumble victory

Fuck em

The Naitch 02-27-2006 09:06 PM

at first I thought it read Angle is pissed about Maria

UmbrellaCorporation 02-27-2006 10:20 PM

Can't blame Angle for being pissed one bit. The match just seems too unorthodox to me or something. I dunno.

I'd MUCH rather see Angle/Orton instead of Angle/Orton/Mysterio.

Fox 02-27-2006 11:31 PM

But I'd much rather see Angle vs. Mysterio than Angle vs. Orton or the triple threat.

dablackguy 02-28-2006 12:08 AM

I'd just rather not see mysterio in the main event at all

John la Rock 02-28-2006 12:19 AM

Triple Threats are SHIT. If I had my way, every wrestlemania match would be 1-1

Corkscrewed 02-28-2006 12:32 AM

Eh, if anyone can lead a great triple threat, it's Angle. But maybe this will teach the writing team to not be idiots.

Nah.... :-\

Whats wrong with Mysterio in the main event? He is a huge crowd favourite.

dablackguy 02-28-2006 01:05 AM

and none of that came from him exploiting eddie's death?

I don't want him in the main event because it means he has a chance of winning the world title. Especially given the circumstances, I do not wanna see him win the world title.

JH 02-28-2006 01:08 AM

if he wins the world title he will be one of the most popular champions of all time and on top of that there's not alot of guys that can compete with his work rate in that ring

Mr. Nerfect 02-28-2006 01:58 AM

I dunno, I think this Triple Threat Match will be better than what people think it will.

I have these images of spots where Randy Orton goes for a German suplex on Mysterio, but Rey blocks, which leads to Angle coming up, and German suplexing Orton while Randy still has Rey in a waistlock. Mysterio flips over so he lands on his feet (while Orton gets drilled with a suplex). Rey then hits a quick leg drop, then charges at Angle (not aware that Mysterio landed) and rolls him up with a snap victory roll.

You're right. It could be better than what most people think.
Karaoke is also better than most people think, but it still sucks.

Plus that doesn't take away the fact that Rey being able to put his spot on the line makes the rumble victory a total joke.

Dave Youell 02-28-2006 03:35 AM

The 3 way will be alright as it features 3 of the best talents in the wrestling world today, this will not be your average 3 way.

But i'd rather see Angle/Rey get a decent 30 minutes one on one

FourFifty 02-28-2006 03:44 AM

I'd rather see Kurt/Orton, Kurt/Rey, Rey/Orton or Anyone/The Spirit Squad.

WM2K was a cool idea for a Fatal Four Way, but after The Big Show and Mick Foley got taken out we all saw Triple H Vs The Rock part 5309385. This triple threat match... This is gayer than Elton John watching the love scenes in that Brokeback movie.

Pepsi Man 02-28-2006 01:49 PM

You know, to everyone complaining that it negates the meaning of the Rumble for the WrestleMania title shot to be able to be put on the line, I DO agree with that, BUT for god's sake, it's been happening for ten years. Now that for once, a match changes with that storyline, it's suddenly horrible?

Fryza 02-28-2006 01:54 PM

I just don't like Mysterio or Triple Threats... :-\

The One 02-28-2006 02:02 PM

OK, I personally HATE Triple Threats...always have. 3-Way Dances are at least slightly better...but here is my question;

Isn't this the group of people who think that HHH/HBK/Benoit was one of the best WrestleMania matches ever? Now I never liked that match, but I seem to remember quite a few of you LOVING that match. So tell me once again what all ya all's problem with Orton and Rey challenging Angle is? I know more people on here like Angle more then Benoit, more that like Orton more then Hunter, and more TPWWers that like...ok the last one I can't do...but still. I am willing to give them a chance. My biggest fear is Orton is going to fuck it up, though I have seen Rey/Angle one on one before and I wasn't that impressed, so maybe Orton missing a few RKOs will make the match worth while.

This board also has a bunch of rabid Benoit fans, and since Benoit is not part of the main event, we talk shit about it.

Ruien 02-28-2006 08:14 PM

Well look, it had to be a triple threat match. Angle vs Rey would be pointless, because Rey would lose. But they are reconizing that Rey is good by putting him in the main event, they are rewarding him for all his hard work and dedication. But now you through Orton in the mix, he is someone thta might win the title. Rey is just there to be there, Orton is the real contender.

Honestly, how many of you think Rey would be allowed to win the title, especially in a 1 on 1 match.

V 03-01-2006 12:04 AM

since when is angle allowed to habve an opinion

the last time i checked he's not triple h

V 03-01-2006 12:04 AM

ZING!

I have a very silly question.

Why exactly is Rey 'not allowed' to be champion in the eyes of TPWW?

He's beaten Anlge on several occasions in 1 on 1 matches. He's beaten a lot of people. So what exactly is this rule we have against him?

CharismaInjection 03-01-2006 12:43 PM

I'm pretty sure Rey Mysterio has never defeated Kurt Angle in a One on One match. He has defeated him in tag matches, triple threats and battle royals. But never in a one on one match, I checked it up here:

http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com...-mysterio.html

I'm pretty sure that's 100% accurate, but you never know.

Nark Order 03-01-2006 02:56 PM

The HBK/HHH/Benoit Triple Threat match was ALOT better than I had expected it to be so I have high hopes.

I wonder that myself to.It seems that Rey doesn't have a big fan base on the internet, which I find strange.I think its because of his size, but in his case I think it could work to his advantage because he could be a believable champ.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just have these vivid memories of Mysterio being victorious over Angle, and I naturally assume that a win is a win. Besides, the key to a good WM is freshness, and the 'first ever one on one' Angle/Mysterio match would get my attention a little more than anythingh with Orton.

Indifferent Clox 03-03-2006 10:58 AM

if mysterio wins we are just one step closer to my dream of midget pirate ninja robot champion.. all he needs is to tag with burchill become a ninja and die and then put his memory into a robot rey

Erm, it wouldn't be their "first ever one on one" match either.

Afterlife 03-03-2006 11:13 AM

Well, you freaks go ahead and use your facts. Pussies. I'll stick to my memory which is admittedly flawed.

Rule?

Has anyone out and said he can't be?

I've seen "I don't buy him as champion," and "I don't want him as champion," But can't be? HE can be, it's just a bad idea.

chipoftheoldblock 03-03-2006 02:43 PM

does Angle beign pissed off,matter???
F-U !!
looking forward for a awesome triple threat like wm xx

JJ Moore 03-03-2006 02:44 PM

Orton can just die, Angle and Rey, 45 minute classic is what I want.

.44 Magdalene 03-03-2006 10:51 PM

Maybe it's just my inability to notice things, or people were more selective about which threads they responded to before, but I really hadn't noticed nearly as much Rey Mysterio hating around here until after the Eddy storylines started. As much as I dislike the angle and feel that Rey Mysterio may be crossing a few lines (not JUST Mysterio, mind you), it feels like the general TPWW populace has made a full 180 on him. Seriously, I remember at least a few threads where the general agreeance was that Rey as champ would be crazy sweet, and now I see people seeing they hate Rey, or Rey sucks, etc. Again, maybe it's just me, but I hadn't noticed such extreme negative reactions to Rey before. It's either a testament to my naivity in the dislike of wrestlers, or to how fickle you sumbitches can be.

Also, I agree that either Rey should have been kept in a one on one match, or Orton should have won the rumble. One or the other. Triple threat just seems...meh. I don't know. Wrong somehow. No matter how good it will probably be, or how many Wrestlemania triple threats there HAVE been, it just looks way too strange to me on paper.

Kane Knight 03-03-2006 11:07 PM

It's some of column A, some of Column B.

Rey's not impressed me since his WCW days, but this shit kinda pushed my disinterest into dislike. The guy definitely has no business in the ME scene.

NeanderCarl 03-03-2006 11:12 PM

All I can say is I remember seeing a CLASSIC Triple Threat involving Angle vs Rock vs Undertaker from Vengeance 2002, best Triple Threat I've seen maybe, and Mysterio and Orton are probably better workers than 'Taker and The Rock (although they can't touch them for crowd appeal).

My point is that it IS possible for a Triple Threat to steal the show and provide a classic match. And with one exceptional wrestler, one great wrestler and one solid wrestler in the mix, and the setting of a WrestleMania, it shouldn't be hard to top the Vengeance effort.

And, hell, if it was good enough for Triple Jesus at WrestleMania XX then it's good enough for lowly Kurt.

Kane Knight 03-04-2006 12:21 AM

Of course, WMXX had three top notch wrestlers and some heavy credibility.

Orton's a poor man's Rock, Rey's style lacks any sort of believability in a match with anyone above 4 feet tall.

Mr. Nerfect 03-04-2006 01:58 AM

I still remain faithful that the WWE will have Angle retain the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. I then have hope they will run Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day for the same title.
