Stop Dissing Console FPS
 

By the Covenant I'm sick all these comp-asshole-geeks who enjoy putting down console FPS' and console FPS control schemes. I don't ever hear console loyalist talking how awkward a mouse and keypad is (the first time). Today's console controllers are straight enough to handle FPS especially if the games are made for that particular system. Every site I go to on the subject has some comp-loyalist dumping on console FPS shooters.

Then it goes into comp vs. consoles; which is even more gay than the old Nintendo vs. Sega shit. Fanboy loyalist choosing sides based on what their mama buys 'em.

Anyway, this 'mouse-n-keypad over controller' crap is sad. Almost as sad as making a thread about it.

Of course, All FPS suck, but there is an innate advantage of using a mouse, and it's idiotic to whine about how you don't see people complaining about mouse+keyboard when they switch from console...It's because they're not retarded enough to claim a step up is a step down.

Most console FPSs need auto-aiming to be any good. A mouse is just the best for pin-point accuracy. But I've been playing Metroid Prime all week and having lots of fun with it.

I just can't play any console FPS because of the shitty control. Of course they aren't going to complain. It's "Wait until the analog stick moves to the correct position, then spend more time than should be taken to aim perfectly" vs. "Move mouse here, shoot".

FPS's suck on consoles because the controlers can't do anything as fast or as acurate.

And believe me, I used to be a console-only guy up until a few years ago. I LIKED console FPS's. But then I went to the mouse and keyboard and I can't play any FPS with a controller now. Metroid Prime, Halo, etc all suck. I fucking bought a keyboard and mouse for my Dreamcast just to play Quake III correctly.

Are you complaining because you don't know how to upgrade your computer to play the awesome FPS's on here? Or just because you're a console fanboy?

Keyboard and mouse is just the easiest by a mile. Having said that I do enjoy timesplitters 2 on the GC everynow and then.

I haven't played many FPS games on PC, so I'm not going to get into that. But frankly, most console FPS games suck. I can't stand the control schemes. I see what they are trying to do, but it just doesn't work a lot of the time. As far as I'm concerned, Goldeneye (and subsequently Perfect Dark) on the N64 makes the best use of the controller for its system. Metroid Prime isn't too shabby either.

Other than that, I'm not particularly interested.

God, even I sort of enjoyed Goldeneye. Of course, my friends kept dragging me into it...

Anyway, I don't mind console FPS, but I don't play that many anyway. Goldeneye back on N64, and now Halo is pretty much it. Just played Black last night, fun I guess but way to repetitive for me.

The last PC FPS I was into was Medal of Honor, actually that's the only one. Delta Force back in the day :cool: Or Doom WAY back. But I never use my PC for games anymore.

It's hard to compare the two because there are few, if any, true clones of games on PC and console to show the difference. I would take PC over console any day but I still love some console FPSs.

A lot of games benefit a mouse more then a joypad, simply because you can re-act better, i had commandos 2, (i know the topics about fps) and it was so much easier playing with a mouse.
The same goes for half life, i had it on PC, a freind had it on ps2, pc was definatly better.

Yawning is much more fun.

The point is still the same. You're trying to profess your lack of interest by showing enough interest to profess it.
