Metallica To Record In July; No Summer Tour Plans

http://www.tunelabmusic.com/commentn..._from=&ucat=4&

Sources close to Metallica have told Launch that the band will not play any U.S. shows this Summer. Sources say that the band will enter the studio in July with producer Rick Rubin (SOAD, Slipknot, Audioslave) to begin recording their ninth album.

Funky Fly 03-07-2006 01:48 AM

St. Anger offends my senses more than if someone were to smear dog shit all over me.

I believe I heard that they dropped that sound after realizing how their fans didn't like it. I read somewhere that it was said they would be returning to an older sound.

it wont help trust me. people will never forget the awfulness of st. anger. when jason newsted left metallica went from awful to just plain sad.

I'll believe they're going with Rubin when I see it, cause they've always made a big deal of saying Bob Rock is their guy.

weather vane 03-07-2006 03:26 AM

They aren't recording with Bob Rock? I wonder if this is because Motley Crue is recording with him?

Metallica and Motley Crue aren't exactly best friends.

Well how is he going to do Motley Crue's new album and Metallica's?

Why don't you go ahead and call his cell phone to find out

D Mac 03-07-2006 02:49 PM

The thing about St. Anger was that they repeated a lot of the same lyrics in the songs over and over and it just dragged on.

I love Frantic and Some Kind of Monster tho.

Returning to their old sound is what St. Anger was supposed to be.

First the Napster hating and then St. Anger. I think these dudes are washed up. I'll just pop in Ride the Lightning and realize that this type of masterpiece won't happen again from these guys.

Hell, they have been going downhill ever since Cliff Burton died.

weather vane 03-08-2006 02:49 AM

You're no troll. Although you posses trolling ablility.

el fregadero 03-08-2006 02:51 AM

Rick Rubin killed Rage Against The Machine.

Dave Youell 03-08-2006 08:44 AM

As bad as that Album was, St Anger still sounds great live
