2 questions

question number one

How many times has The Rock won the Wcw Championship?

question number two

Is the wwe cruiserweight Championship a world title?

ddpBANG 03-17-2006 09:50 AM

1. Twice
2. I have heard it called the Cruiserweight Championship of the World by (I think) Tony Schiavone.

I remember The rock won the undisputed belt at Vengeance 2002. As far as i know this belt is a unification of the WWF championship and the WCW championship. Hence I believe he has won the title for 3 times.

Tony Chimmo announces that title as the Cruiserweight Championship of the World

The Undisputed Title is the Undisputed Title. It's not the WCW Title. The WCW Title died when Jericho won the match to unify the WCW Title and the WWF Title.

Just to refresh my memory, was Jericho the WCW champion going into Vengance? Its just I had no recalection of him being the last 'official' WCW champ.

ddpBANG 03-17-2006 10:50 AM

No, he won the WCW belt at Vengeance by beating the Rock. Later that night he won the WWF title by beating Stone Cold

ddpBANG 03-17-2006 10:50 AM

Thus unifying the titles

Jericho first won the WCW at No Mercy, and then again Vengence. But it might have already been changed to the World Championship at that point.

Disturbed316 03-17-2006 10:53 AM

It had already changed.

Just to be anally technical, the WCW championship's history is "locked away" in the WWE championship. It wasn't killed, it was just merged.

Anyone have both of those title wins at Vengance? I'd like to see them. Those are two matches that I've never seen but always wanted to.

Disturbed316 03-17-2006 11:07 AM

I have them :)

Xero 03-17-2006 11:09 AM

Could you upload them... Please? :p

Just had a look and the Jericho/Austin part is slightly fucked. Sometimes it plays fine, sometimes it fucks up saying something about codec's even though I have every one that was made

Jericho/Rock is fine though.

Was it re-named the World title after Survivor Series(end of the Invason angle)? I was under the impresion that it wasn't the World title until it was awarded to HHH on Raw. But reading this discusion has rang a few bells..... so now I'm not sure anymore:-\

Disturbed316 03-17-2006 11:19 AM

After Surivior Series they changed it to World Title or championship whatever. Then when it resurfaced on Triple H, it was known called the World Heavyweight Championship.

But the World title (pre unification a.k.a old WCW title) and World Heavyweight Championship (Triple H's belt) are completly, 100% different.
