Favorite Sports Video Game

Any sports related game. Any system.

I can't get enough of NFL Blitz. I went to Gamestop and picked up NFL Blitz 20-03 and I can't believe how much fun I have with it. I used to love playing tournaments during class in high school. Blitz: The League is even a pretty good game. Besides having to pay a buck in the arcade for a full game, it is exactly the type of sports game I go for. Most of my friends love NCAA or Madden, but I get so bogged down with everything in those. I mean it is more realistic yes, but controlling 11 players at once can be daunting in a game.

NFL Street would hit a close second for me. Only because it stole some of Blitz's ideas and none of my friends will play it with me.

NCAA Football 2006 hands down. That game is the shit whether I am playing dynasty mode or playing againest kids at my school or whatever

I thought the NFL 2K series was better then Madden IMO. Especially the latest one. You had great graphics, stellar commentary, and even halftime and end of game highlights! And in the latest one, you had an interview with the star of the game at the end of the game which was pretty cool.

NHL 94 for SNES was some pretty hot shit way back when.

NBA Street 2 is pretty hot too.

Blitz 03-18-2006 02:34 AM

Old school:
NBA Jam
Super Baseball 2020
Blades Of Steel

Current:
NHL 06
NBA Street (any one)

Didn't they gay up the recent Blitz games? I remember reading something about it.. they made it feel less arcade-like and too realistic because the NFL complained.

FIFA 99 is the godliest football game ever made.

Boomer 03-18-2006 09:51 AM

Blitz: The League has nothing to do with the NFL, and they made it more "realistic"

So yeah, guys taking steroids, having sex with cheerleaders, etc.

But it actually has a running game...and when you break people's bones it is pretty cool

NBA Jam. If my super nintendo's video hadn't of fried, i'd still be playing it to this day.

Boomer 03-19-2006 12:23 AM

Yeah I was all about memorizing all the codes for the secret people in NBA Jam like Bill Clinton and George Clinton.

D Mac 03-19-2006 05:22 PM

Wasted a lot of quarters on NBA Jam back in the arcade days.

* Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf

SNES
* NBA Jam
* Super Punch Out

Sega Genesis

Blitz 03-20-2006 02:31 AM

There was supposed to be a new Road Rash for the PS2...but it got cancelled :'(

Boondock Saint 03-20-2006 03:06 AM

WTF with Fifa 06 not allowing 2 people to go through a career on the same team? [Shaun of the Dead] Gayyyy [/Shaun of the Dead]

Old school I'd go with Blitz or NBA Jam.

Boondock Saint 03-20-2006 03:06 AM
