Any good ways to improve fingering speed?
 

I've been playing bass for about 3 months now, and would like to see some improvement in my finger-picking. I play faster with a thumb or a pick, but would rather have a more hands-on approach than a pick and more versatility than just relying on my thumb.

Any tips or techniques to up the speed of your fingers?

I don't know if there are any techniques, specifically, but slowly incrementing your speed tends to work. Once you can hold a steady rhythm at one speed, pick it up another few bpm and try and maintain a steady rhythm at that speed. As you do it more often, the easier it will be to maintain (and reach) a faster speed. :-\ That's all I could really suggest. I didn't really ever learn any techniques, I just got faster as I got better.

Don't worry about speed, man. Instead of the normal techniques, switch to making a 'come here' motion with your index finger. And don't forget to slip a thumb in her ass before she starts clinching(if she starts clinching).
