WWE owns Japanese footage?
 

Tonight during the Mick Foley montage I noticed that they included some of his japanese stuff, including a Foley/Funk deathmatch. When/did the WWE get the rights to this? And what promotion was it? IWA?

They have always had that footage for some reason. They have used it muliple times in Mick Foley montages since it happened.

I also noticed some other footage that I've never noticed before...

Yeah, it was from about 95 or 96 I think and IWA sounds about right in some kind of deathmatch tournament.

I'm not sure if they own it or have just worked out a deal to use it.

I dont believe they own the footage to it. I believe they just got permission.

Maybe it is footage from Mick Foley's personal collection?
