56
It is considered by many to be the holy grail of all sports records, and with Jimmy Rollins starting this season only 20 games away (if he breaks it, Joe D's "single season" record will still hold)... I thought that this would make for a good debate:
Will the single season 56-game hitting streak ever be broken? |
I think he'll stop at 48.
|
Nah Rollings is breaking that shit man....
|
I can see it being broken again, but it will be a lot harder because of the media pressure. Whenever somebody is on a streak, ESPN makes sure everybody knows, but if somebody can block all of that out I think it can be beat.
|
Of course it will happen eventually.
|
What is this I hear if he breaks it, it will be asterisked or something because it was over 2 season??
No I do not think Rollins will break, maybe he'll get to 40 at best, but nowhere near 56. But yes, of course it will be broken eventually. |
I bet he doesn't get a hit on opening day
