LOL, Dave"NoSpace"Wadding's hate for me is hilarious.
Granted, I sometimes get a little fanatical about pushing talent that, you know, deserves a push based on their ability to wrestle and tell stories in the ring.
I didn't call Doug Basham Benoit's equal, I called him his near-equal. Slightly different meanings there. Chris Benoit has said so himself. The quote was something like "Doug Basham can go hold-for-hold with me anyday,". The two also had a fantastic Iron Man Match in OVW.
The WWE may not push the guy, that doesn't mean he isn't good. Sorry for, you know, using someone's actual talent to measure their worth. I'll remember the only people worth caring about are those that are pushed constantly by the WWE. Looks like it's back to exclusively marking out for John Cena, Triple H & Shawn Michaels for me.
Sure, maybe it could be considered hyperbole. Just because the guy hasn't used that talent in a WWE circle doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though. Comparing him to Benoit may seem unfounded, but I am only going by what I have seen/heard. Are we taking Vermaat's opinions as lore now? Doug Basham hasn't won any singles titles in the WWE because he is not good or lazy?
Hopefully post-WrestleMania, Chris Benoit hosts some kind of "US Open Challenge" for the United States Championship and we get to see Benoit lock horns with Basham. Maybe then the DaveWaddings of the world will care about Basham, and other people with documented talent that doesn't get used by the WWE (hence automatically making them "jobbers").
Once again, sorry for being optimistic about a guy's abilities.
