Someone change the title. It's NOT the 05/06 season. It's the 2006 Regular Season. |
you sure are anal today. It doesn't suit you.

Atleast I didn't say "leave it to the Cubs fan to fuck up a simple title". Nope. Won't hear that from me. GO SOX! |
It's ok, Cubs fans enjoy being treated like shit. That's why they're Cubs fans.

Well I think he's a 30/30 man. Micheals has @ a 400 OBP, and less power, I'd have him leading off.
(I see the Tribe signed Sizemore for 6 years for a pretty cheap price) |
Keep in mind Michaels put up a .400 OBP 1. in 105 games 2. almost only facing lefties 3. in the National League. If Michaels can have a .400 OBP as a regular player in the AL, then he should lead off, but I doubt that he can do that. Sizemore is the right choice for now.
|
Sabathis pulled after 2 1/3 with some sort of minor injury
|
Yeah I was thinking about that after posting it. Michaels is yet to prove himself as a fulltime player. Sizemore himself doesn't have a ton of major league experience but he proved himself last year. Another year of development wouldn't hurt. Hopefully for his and the Tribes' sake being the leadoff hitter doesn't affect him adversely. It has others in the past..

Danny Graves needs to DIE.
|
you mean former 40 saves man with Cincinnatti Danny Graves? :D
|
I know there are 161 games left, but this is kinda the reason I picked Cleveland 3rd in the Central this year
|
and Buehrle goes and gives up 3 runs in 7 pitches
|
Fuck's sake, that rain better not be headed for New York :(
|
Finally back on, the Indians don't have a very impressive lineup IMO. They have some big guys, but they aren't going to win the division. As long as Chicago's pitchers don't blow it, the central race should end early again.
|
Indians are gonna have a great season and fight with the Twins for the Wild Card spot.
And don't think I'm trying to ego-stroke your team BCWWF. |
What's this about the Reds always playing the first game of the season, some dude from Cinnci just wrote into Coldpizza complaining. I never heard of that before?

METSSSSSSSSSSSS
Great game, the fans piss me off for getting on Beltran already (0-4), but he shut them up by ending the game by throwing out Jose Vidro at 2nd  |
Wait, am I missing something major...does a starting pitcher need to pitch a certain amount of innings to get the win? I always thought it was whoever was in the game at the time the team went ahead, but people are telling me you need like five innings or something. WTF?
|
Yeah, it's 5 innings
|
^ :y:
A pitcher can't get the win (even if his team is up 10-0) if he has to leave before the 5th. |
If Foulke can get his shit together I really don't see how the Red Sox aren't the favorite in the AL East. Kinda wish they would just give up on Keith Foulke and his 85 MPH fastball and use Papelbon as the closer.
|
LOL
Apparently, Yankee fans are bitching because Wagner entered to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica....saying it's a disrespect to Rivera (who's used the song for a decade). Even though Wagner's been using it for years as well. |
Let's compare:
C - Jorge Posada vs. Jason Varitek EDGE - Red Sox 1B - Jason Giambi vs. Kevin Youkillis EDGE: Yankees (offense), Red Sox (defense) OVERALL: Yankees 2B - Robinson Cano vs. Mark Loretta EDGE: Draw (Possible slight edge to Yankees because Cano is young and Loretta is old and coming off injury) SS - Derek Jeter vs. Alex Gonzalaz EDGE: Yankees (offensively and defensively) 3B - Alex Rodriguez vs. Mike Lowell EDGE: Yankees (offensively and defensively) LF - Hideki Matsui vs. Manny Ramirez EDGE: Red Sox (offensively, Matsui no slouch though), Yankees (defensively) OVERALL: Red Sox CF - Johnny Damon vs. Coco Crisp EDGE: Yankees (offensive edge, equal D) RF - Gary Sheffield vs. Trot Nixon/Pena EDGE: Yankees (offensive edge, equal D) DH - Bernie Williams vs. David Ortiz EDGE - Red Sox ROTATIONS: Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Shawn Chacon, Chien Ming Wang, Carl Pavano vs. Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, Matt Clement, Tim Wakefield, David Wells EDGE: EVEN. Every starter in both rotations has question marks. I'd argue that the Yankee staff is better, but for arguements sake lets say they're equal. BULLPEN: Aaron Small, Jaret Wright, Scott Proctor, Tanyon Sturtze, Ron Villone, Mike Myers, Octavio Dotel, Kyle Farnsworth vs. Mike Timlin, Dave Riske, Rudy Seanez, Julian Tavarez, Jon Papelborn, Lenny DiNardo EDGE: EVEN. CLOSERS Mariano Rivera vs. Keith Foulke EDGE: Yankees, overwhelminingly BENCH Bobby Crosby, Andy Philips, Miguel Cairo, Kelly Stinett vs. Alex Cora, Adam Stern, JT Snow, Josh Bard EDGE: Yankees. So, in review, the Yankees are better offensively, defensively, have a better bench and a better closer than the Red Sox and the Red Sox are the favorite? |
