If you could change one thing about prowrestling...

what would it be and why? Could be about the history of wrestling, an aspect of wrestling, careers, match outcomes, etc.

Angle and Taker - Main Eventing WM 22

Bad Company 04-05-2006 01:28 AM

Scott Hall being a useless alcoholic.
The Screwjob
Owens Death
Goldberg being misused by the WWE
Vince Russo in WCW
Steiner being misused by the WWE
Edge winning the title, waste of time.
The "kiss my ass" club

And so so many more.

The One 04-05-2006 01:31 AM

Maybe, but because it happened, we'll never know how things would of worked out. :p

Actually, it seemed as though Bret Hart was being groomed for the "feud with Vince McMahon" spot prior to his departure.

Who knows? Without the screwjob, maybe Bret would have become the superstar that Austin went on to be and, you know, maybe he could've been a draw after all! :D

I'm going with a no. As a face Bret was getting bood, and as a hell Austin was getting cheered well before the screw job.

Without the screw job, Vince and Austin wouldn't have been as amazing as it was. It did look as though Austin and McMahon were maybe heading in that direction, but without the screw job McMahon couldn't have gone with the flow and used all the hate he got from screwing Bret and channelled it to Austin.

Oh and Austin was heading to be a super mega star already. There really was no stopping him.

With a "could actually happen" approach, I'd unban the banned moves in the WWE and along with that, I'd try to go back to the old style of wrestling where they called more of the stuff in the ring.

Spontanaety is awesome, in my opinion.

Pinnacle Charisma 04-05-2006 03:23 AM

Jericho and Christian to have gotten major pushes.

HHH to be a homosexual so he never would have gotten married to Steph (this is of course assuming that Steph is a man as her voice would suggest).

John Cena to have never gotten in the wwe.

PullMyFinger 04-05-2006 03:27 AM

The sale of WCW to WWE, but rather to Fusient or anyone else that would've kept the company alive.

That single handedly ruined wrestling IMO till this day.

Chavo Classic 04-05-2006 07:17 AM

British Bulldog to be champion at one point in his career

As far as changing something in history, that's easy for me. "The Invasion" was criminally botched in ways that will forever make me hate Vincent Kennedy McMahon. This was a once in a lifetime angle and it got atomically blown into a mushroom-shit cloud because of WWE/Vince's ego. I die a little inside everytime I think about it. :'(

Something I'd change about the current product is to have someone in charge of WWE creative that was neutral and not from the McMahon blood line. Also, there should be a representative from the wrestlers in every creative meeting to speak up and voice the opinion of the locker room..kind of like a Union Leader. I'd fire Johnny Ace and get someone who isn't a Tyrannosaurus testicle. Plus, I'd have less Hollywood writers and more people with experience in the wrestling industry to be part of the creative team.

Shit....that was more than one.

Batsu 04-05-2006 05:18 PM

Triple H does the job at Wrestlemania 19.

there's more... but that's #1 on my list.

Kane Knight 04-05-2006 07:42 PM

Rampant drug abuse within the WWF, WWE, WCW, ECW, etc., locker rooms. With how many people were drunk, juicing, and taking Coke, it's like a suicide cocktail. The number of people we've lost to this one stupid factor is just insane. If anyone in the wrestling business gave a shit about the wrestlers, there would have been a crackdown on drugs over a decade ago, BEFORE someone like Eddie died.

SammyG 04-05-2006 07:49 PM

David Arquette being the WCW Champion

Skippord 04-05-2006 11:41 PM

Kane would've beaten HHH and remained masked/or they would've stuck with the psychopath thing after he unmasked and had him win the title then GOD DAMMIT!

Samoa Joe would still be X division champion and undefeated for about a year, but not because I like him because I would have CHRIS FUCKING SABIN beat him at Bound for Glory pushing Sabin to ME status

SecretDesire 04-06-2006 12:22 AM

The merging of WCW & WWF and then ECW wasnt a good wrestling move. For Vince , it was a good business move. I think he's still trying to rectifythat to this day with the seperation of RAW and SD into two brands. In my eyes things will never be the same.
Here's another thought...Wrestlemania. Remember how the areas looked and felt. Now I think it looks too small and the ramp/stage is just all a bunch of screens. There shoud be something special about WM because its supposed to be the "Grandaddy of them all!" Now it looks more like the promising son....
