hardcore title

where is it and is it comeing back

Kane Knight 02-02-2004 11:44 AM

Since Orton is the Hardcore Legend, I would presume he is holding it...:shifty:

The belt was unified with the WWE IC Title quite some time ago. It
was during WWE's infamous "let's merge every belt in the world tog-
ether" phase. It may eventually return, when they run out of ideas..
or should I say, when they run out of other angles to recycle.

The belt itself was given to Foley (Who, IIRC, was the one who made all the unifications (onscreen, anyways)).

Cactus Sid 02-02-2004 03:23 PM

I don't think Foley merged the Hardcore and European titles with the IC title, and certainly not the IC with the World. He unified the IC with the US and the 2 tag titles, but that was it.

Boondock Saint 02-02-2004 03:25 PM

I think Bischoff was the one to unify the Hardcore belt, actually. In the fall of 2002, it unified with the European title, then that unified with the IC title. Then that unified with the World title. Because Bischoff felt "One show, One champion"...am I wrong?

And fu</>ck several things up every time I open my mouth...

By the way, Jericho's finisher is the Crippler Crossface, The Rock is a French Sympathiser, and Billy Kidman is the fastest up-and-comer on Raw...

Cleanup crew member:

Ah there he goes again. Someone get the bucket, the mop, the bleach, the dish detergent, the other mop, and some latex gloves.

A sales representative will be with the Hardcore Title shortly. The Hardcore Title's call is very important to us...

Bad Guy 02-21-2004 03:46 AM

i hope it doesn't come back.

Mikey 02-21-2004 08:29 PM

Me neither. It can stay on Mick Foley's wall

Iceman90 02-22-2004 09:10 PM

Bischoff was the one to merge the European and Hardcore belts into the I.C. belt.

Foley merged the WWE and WCW belts (I.C. and USA, and 2 tag belts) together.

Joe Kerr 02-23-2004 12:47 AM

the only real good thing about the hardcore title was the 24 7 rule other than that it was just another belt that low carders played with

Well, it does have an illustrious pedigree behind it...What with Pete Gas...

Mikey 02-24-2004 11:01 AM

and Vicera...

SuperSlim 02-24-2004 11:34 AM

anytime you ahve a champion with the name of gas holding a belt... you know it sucks

The Mackem 02-24-2004 11:46 AM

Some of the first Hardcore fights seemed cool. Al Snow vs Holly after RDD dropped out or something was quite cool. Al: "You wanna make a call?". WHACK! The old phone to the brain.

Whatever happpened to the J.O.B squad, they sort of disappeared about this time.

Kane Knight 02-24-2004 01:24 PM

...Can't forget Joey Abs...

SuperSlim 02-24-2004 01:44 PM

man they did have such generic names.

Pete Gas, Joey Abs, and that other guy

The Mackem 02-24-2004 02:07 PM

2 of my favorite Hardcore matches had to be Al Snow vs Hardcore Holly when they ended up fighting in the Mississippi River.

And when it was Road Dogg vs Someone. I dont remember who it was but the ended up fighing in the snow and I believe that Road Dogg won with a piledriver through one of the forklift pallets.

That Was Al Snow, Because that was going to set up a Best, two out of three Hardcore Match match, but Road Dogg ended up getting a Injury which lead to the Holly/Snow match at St Valientine Day Massacre
