Brock and WWE settle
 

The Twin Cities Business Journal reported today that World Wrestling Entertainment and former WWE champion Brock Lesnar have agreed to a settlement of Lesnar's lawsuit against the company.

Terms of the settlement were not announced. Lesnar's attorney David Bradley Olsen commented, "Although the settlement with WWE does not give Brock the clear-cut court victory he was looking for, it does provide him with the certainty he needs to pursue new ventures while he is still in his athletic prime."

Lesnar filed a lawsuit in February 2005 claiming that a 2004 agreement he signed when seeking his WWE release in order to pursue a National Football League career wrongly prohibited him from attempting to earn money in other ventures. The legal case went back and forth for months, with WWE attempting to prevent Lesnar from appearing in the ring for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he holds the IWGP championship. At one point, Lesnar had even visited WWE Headquarters and agreed to verbal terms for a WWE return, only to change his mind and sign a deal with Inoki Sports.

That's awesome. It's a smart move not to return to the WWE right now, because they would have no obligation to use him properly, and they'd probably turn him into a joke.

I wonder if the terms of the settlement allow Lesnar to compete in TNA?

The terms of the settlement will probably let Brock work anywhere BUT TNA and maybe UFC sadly Fox.

WWE could use Lesnar right about now.

Meh. Good for both sides to just get this over with. We'll see Brock back in the WWE in about five years, I'm sure.

^^I reckon he'll be back sooner than that.I can really see it happening soon, now they've settled things.Probably in about a year or so.I don't think they would ruin his career, that wouldn't make them money, and Lesnar is someone they can make money off of easily if used right.He's not really someone you can job out to loads of people, just wouldn't be believable.

WWE expects us to buy Mysterio as a Credable World Champ.

Yeah, I don't know why people are whining about Credibility, especially in the other thread on KAne winning the title at Judgement day. Rey is champ. Credibility is about as low is it can get. Even Rey doesn't believe it.

Give Lesnar a year before hes brought back .. as long as he isnt made invincible again like last time i dont mind. Put him in his place by having JBL take piss out of him .. then have mysterio beat him a couple of times before he goes mental with embarassment and becomes good again :shifty:

What i mean about Lesnar is that he's not the kind of guy you can job to loads of people.Yeah thanks for throwing the Rey Mysterio thing in my face, but you know what i'm talking about.Lesnar was booked as unstoppable last time,the WWE can't just go and job him out if they re-sign him.

Only reason Rey is champ is because of Eddie and Vince saw an oppotunity to make money off of him.You wont make money out of Lesnar by jobbing him out to other wrestlers, Vince is smarter than that.They should have some wrestlers go over him though.

It's cool that Lesnar & WWE have finally settled......

Brock needs to either:

1}Come back to WWE and stop bitchin about travelin'.

2}Go to TNA and help establish them as competition for WWE.

Outside of those two, Lesnar wouldn't have much impact on the wrestling world.
