How can a return be back?

Having "DX is back" in the title sorta wrecks the point of the spoiler warning though.

Anyone who didn't see WWE reforming DX is too much of a Dee-Dee-Dee to remember the spoiler.

I think it will fall flat on its face if they just have it be the exact same as before. I think they should evolve it a little bit, the idea of "DX Attitude" with "Evolution Style" would be pretty cool and Triple H and Shawn Michaels could pull it off quite effectively (since Triple H right now has been at his the since his quad injury.)

I think the best way to bring DX back is to have Shawn Michaels & Triple H cut a promo basically telling Vince that until he stop dwelling on the past, they won't stop dwelling on the past. They agree to disband if/when Vince McMahon steps down as Chairman of the board.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Triple H & Shawn Michaels get a World Tag Team Championship run out of this. It's kind of hard to believe that Triple H has only held one Tag Team Title in his entire career. Most main eventers usually get thrown the titles a few times.

Isn't that the one that was repealed because it wasn't definite?

Anyway, I'd think it'd be cool... except we've seen what the WWE does to old cool things when they bring them back.

I figured it needed to be stated, as the last 900 times someone posted one of these, people seemed to forget the previous 900 times such claims had been made.

Come on, how often have we seen such a card only for it to not be true? And yet people post them as fucking spoilers? A card with a big, yet unrevealed by WWE promise is about as common as a closed-fisted punch in wrestling, and the odds of it coming true are about as likely as someone getting DQed for using one.

Am I the only one who thinks Matt Striker would make a fantastic addition to DX? He has some skills, and his mic skills are off the charts. He is about the only one I am sure of. I want to say Ken Doane and Rob Conway, but that takes me into complicated fantasy booking, something I know has no chance of ever coming true and something I know the WWE couldn't follow if a midget (who would have their undivided attention, and then some) explained it to them.

I can see them sticking Victoria and Candice Michelle in there too for some reason. So in short, I see these four performers being the 21st century's D-Generation X: Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Matt Striker, Victoria & Candice Michelle.

I agree, that even if they do do it to "dwell on the past" and get back at Vince, they need protege's.

I wouldn't use Striker, he's great where he is.

Candice has the attitude, but Victoria would work more in the Chynaish roll.

Carlito wouldn't be bad at all (It'd give him a push higher in the card), but I think Carlito is doing fine on his own.


Although there isn't anyone else really on the Raw roster I could see (SHelton, but I dunno.) They could bring up CM Punk for it, or someone else from OVW. Mainly though, I want to see a younger guy, who has the same young cockiness HBK used to have.

While we're at it, we can turn her into Chyna 2.0. Conway can play the role of X-Pac, his heat or lackthereof is similar.

Actually, when you do think about it, DX did kind of get nothings and turned them into somethings. Aaron Stevens? He plays a character called "The Idol", which basically involves women hanging off him. I think it would work. CM Punk would be fantastic but ECW has kind of sealed him off.

The reason I suggested both Victoria and Candice Michelle is because they have that kind of mentor/protoge thing going. I'm not sure if Vicky is actually training Candice, or what, but their little "kisses of the cheek" thing seems to be continuing. Victoria would be the Chyna-like Triple H tag along, while Candice Michelle would be more of a general valet, probably hanging off (one of) the rookie member(s).

sorry if this has been mentioned...but what about Y2J in DX? hmmm or even Edge...both have that persona that could work in DX with HBK/HHH...if edge/lita joined...DX would be botched up :rofl:

The best way for them to bring back DX is to have Triple H come out Monday and basically turn on Vince and Shane. Have him say something like he’s disgusted with the way Vince has been running the company, giving title shots to anyone who walks through the front door, and turning “legitimate superstars” into referees! He could say Vince has lost his vision of success and he needs a reminder of what success is. Triple H could announce that once again, the WWE has left him no choice but to start a revolution, and when you start a revolution, he’s learned, you want your friends close and your enemies closer. Cue HBK who comes down and merely stares Triple H down. Shawn could say that he’d never thought he’d say it, but Hunter is absolutely right. Vince has gone too far mocking religion, the WWE title, and the fans and that it’s time for a revolution. He would go on to be like “for those of you who don’t remember, Hunter and I used to do this thing that pushed every last one of Vince’s buttons. Now I may not be that same guy anymore, but drastic times call for drastic measures. So Vince we got two words for you” to which HBK and Triple H rip their shirts off to reveal the original black and silver DX shirts underneath.
From that point, it could go lots of ways, but makes it pretty obvious that DX is only around for a limited time (until they kick Vince’s ass down a notch). Also, this would turn HHH face, which is likely where his character is headed anyway. If they reincarnate DX it can’t be a long term thing. This will not work well at all, and finding ways to have HBK be “suggestive” and “provocative” without him actually doing those things will, over time, make the whole “return” concept fall absolutely flat from a fan standpoint.

I’m all for bringing DX back for a month or two, especially with HHH and HBK. But so help me if WWE ruins the name of the most entertaining faction in its history…!!!
